PROPOSED, THEN UP TO YOU

50 x 71 cm

acrylic on canvas

This is about a man proposing a woman, but only their shoes shown here along with a flower. The man's shoe is lying down, to reflect the feeling of no force to the woman to accept him.

MORNING CALL

49,5 x 70 cm

acrylic on canvas

This is about some kind of morning call. When this painting was being worked, a picture of Mr. President appeared in the media along with Thailand prime minister Thaksin. "President Bush will welcome Prime Minister Thaksin to Washington on June 10. The United States and the Kingdom of Thailand are treaty allies and old friends. President Bush looks forward to discussing next steps in the war on terror, regional security issues, economic cooperation, and ways to further strengthen the alliance between the United States and Thailand," as mentioned in the whitehouse website previous to that.

Mr. President appeared in front of US soldiers in Miramar when this painting was nearly finished, with some aircrafts at the background, just like the bird at the background of this painting.

WHO DID THIS?

72,5 x 94 cm

acrylic on canvas

This painting was started a few weeks earlier, but then abandoned to do some other paintings. It was being worked again, when Mr. George Bush was visiting Africa.

Another significant response to this painting was when the president took a visit to the American Legion convention. Several logos of American Legion were placed behind him that made it look like the spots of the leopard skin. If it is connected with the title of this painting, "Who Did This?", whereas the leopard is like asking who has served the food that it could easily resume, it becomes like his gratitude to the American Legion who have spend their times and energies for the glory of the country that enables the next generation to have good life, good food, good times, and Thanking God for all those conveniences.

Bush vowed he would never retreat over Iraq  because it was part of the war on terror, as another U.S. soldier was killed and signs emerged of financial pain. (Larry Downing/Reuters)
