During the making of this painting, Lady Diana appeared in the media with a stooping pose similar to her pose in this painting, in front of Mother Theresa who later on died just one day before the funeral of Lady Diana. The figure in front of her in this painting is Semar, a famous figure in the traditional puppet show in Indonesia who often gives wise advises.
