Group Effort: the ways of the Ducks 10/16/03


The Mighty Ducks of Anaheim seem to be flying just a little bit to shallow this season, however there is no reason to Look back at last season, it is done and gone as well as some of that talent. This season is the breaking point with more vendettas and no more surprises this team is however armed with veterans like Rucchin, Fedorov, to the Rookie sniper Lupul this team should have some amazing moves between all the names and numbers at least individually. This team that malded so well in their San Diego training camp has lost themselves to individual images. With the forth game of this vibrant season fast approaching this season could end up being the worse start of the Franchise. But to blame the loses on the team would be incorrect these loses have not been a group effort, this has become a team of individuals. It's all about the Better off with Feds signs, It's the Vish bashing, The Ozo dissing and the individual scrutiny this team has brought on itself that has caused the loses. How can a team focus as one when it's spotlight doesn't included all of them?
Does Anaheim having Fedorov really matter if there is no chemistry between him and his linemates? Does it matter how much talent Lupul has if he doesn't know where his linemates are? Does it Matter if Niedermayer shots, misses if there is no one there for the rebound? This phenomenal team needs its confidence as unit not on paper and in the press, this team knows to know who deserves that cup this season and it needs to think and feel as 'team' before they can even get on the score board, it is non newbies who need to realizes their surprises are all gone and they need a new bag of tricks.
