To the right is the plaque dedicated to John Livingston Taborn and Bertha Allen. My great aunt and uncle, were both great contributors to the Lakeview Community. John Livingston was the first black educator in our community who held a Masters degree. He taught 2 generations at Lakeview community school. His wife Bertha stood beside him and gave the gift of music at A.M.E. Baber Chapel. Both of these wonderful people will live forever in the minds and hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know them. |
