You Benefit by following a step-by-step, project-by-project guide in Communication and/or Leadership in a manner that is specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and trackable.
You progress at your own pace, preparing 5-7 minute speeches designed to help you build speaking skills. One of the Features of a Toastmasters' meeting is that there are plenty of speaking opportunities. You can Benefit by signing up for anything from a 45 second delivery of a Toast to a 7 minute prepared speech and just about everything in between.
Speaking opportunities vary in length of time and type of delivery. You choose and you progress at the pace at which you are comfortable.
For those who want more of a challenge, you may choose to sign up to Chair or Evaluate an entire meeting. You Benefit by learning how to run timely, productive and even enjoyable meetings. Another Feature of Toastmasters is the low cost. At Lakeview Toastmasters the membership dues are equivalent to $2.51 per meeting and our meetings are 2 hours in length. So you are essentially receiving the Benefit of Public Speaking and Leadership training at $1.25/hour. Less than a cup of coffee! Where else can you receive Public Speaking and Leadership Training at that cost? One of the outstanding Features of Lakeview is our club spirit and supportive energy. Our club members Benefit from the tremendous support and encouragement of fellow members, while going at their own pace in self-development.
