Darrowold started as a story off the top of my head back in 1996. We had just gotten internet access and I thought it would be fun to send e-mail to my daughter. Of course, at the age of 4, she loved daddy's fairy tales and so I started telling her a story via e-mail. My son, who at the time was only 2, had just started getting some fantasy toys which inspired the characters and before long, a full saga began to take shape in my head with my son getting added in almost immediately as well. So I outlined the whole thing and started writing it out seriously as a Christmas present for my two children complete with illustrated cover and binder drawn by their daddy. Unfortunately, I only finished book 1 of what is now turning out to be the Darrowold Trilogy by Christmas that year and my kids, now 4 in number, have been chomping at the bit for me to finish it ever since. Someday I will. But for now, the process continues rather slowly. You may experience the fun (and eventual frustration) with my kids by clicking on the King to the left of the screen and reading the completed Book 1: "Trouble in the Land of Dwarves" as well.
