Gryphon-Art

This is a scratch art picture that I did in my senior year of High School at Reavis High School in Burbank IL.
That was back in... well, never mind. We wouldn't want to give that away.
I added the writing on the picture digitally for the web including the title.
(That was mostly to appease my mother-in-law who was appalled that I could make something so evil looking.
Of course, at the time, I wasn't exactly walking with the Lord like I should have been.)
As it says, this picture took 2nd place in the district competition that year for scratch art.

The following pictures are air brush paintings of a super hero team I created known as the PROTECTORS OF FREEDOM done by a professional artist at Six Flags Great America back in the mid to late 80's. The characters were designed and originally drawn by myself on character sheets for the DC Heroes RPG and the artist (I think his name was Doug) translated them onto t-shirts for me. His artwork is much better than mine. In fact, I believe he went on to become a Dark Horse Comics artist. Unfortunately, some of it is lost in the scanning. (It's quite a challenge scanning clothes which tend to stretch, wrinkle and just plain distort.) This was the best way I could think of to preserve the artwork, however, since the original shirts are starting to wear thin and rip.

Unfortunately, the pictures were too hard to fit on the scanner all at once, which made some of them an even bigger challenge. For instance if you look closely at Maelstrom in particular, you will notice a line across the middle of the picture where I had to line up the top and bottom halves of his picture to get him in full. I did the same with Diamond, but his picture will look the most clean because I used the scanning program to erase the surroundings and fix up the line across his thighs. See if you can tell. I should have done the same thing with Fire Comet, but I got most of his picture on the scanner. Same with Tasmanian Devil. The worst part about Fire Comet's picture is that you can see his name on the back of the shirt bleeding through the picture. But, hopefully you get the idea by these pictures.
