UNDERSTANDING CURSINGS AND BLESSINGS |
||||
When people think of cursings, they often think of bad words, cussing, and bad mouthing. While these are good definitions of the subjuct, and we ought not to do these things, I intend to go a little deeper with the thoughts and ides of cursings, how they affect us, and why we shouldn't do it. In the O.T. of the bible, God instructed Israel to "curse not" and to bless his neighbors and kindred. In the law, curses stayed with a family to the third and fourth generations. These are known as generational curses. Generational curses are generally caused by defilement. There are many ways to become defiled. We can read these in the book of Deut. Some examples are, molestation, laying with animals, mem with men, women with women, and adultry. Most of the defilements are sexual in nature. Just because Christ was crucified, and we are under grace, it does not mean that we are not subject to these same generational curses caused by defilement. Jesus came to fulfill the law, not to do away with it. Some of the O.T. laws were changed, the sacrificing of animals, circumcision, etc. The spiritual laws that God put into effect were never changed, and will never be changed. In the N.T., Jesus said out of the same mouth comes blessings and cursings. When the head of the family was nearing death, he would call his oldest son to his side and "bless" him. We read this over and over with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and others. Blessings were things that were very important to the next generational leaders. Cursings were a different story. When someone was guilty of different sins, he would be banished from the tribe, and a curse, or mark was put on him, as with Abel. The curse on Abel was that he would have to live a full life of hardships without comfort, and anyone who killed him would be cursed seven times worse. There is more to cursings than meets the eye. Cursings are very closely related to gossip. Jesus and the apostles preached against gossip, and I bet most of the modern preachers don't even know why. Here is why...When you say something about someone, whether it is true or not, especially if it is not true, you are cursing or putting a curse on that person. Gossip is not simply expressing a thought or idea about someone that you are afraid to say to their face. I will give you an example. When you say that so in so is too lazy to work in a pie factory, whether that person is lazy or not, devils in the spiritual realm are dispatched to do harm to that person. Cursings work because the purpose of demons is to steal, kill, and destroy. When you say that, demons do your bidding, and they set out to steal his ability to work, his means when he does work, and ultimately his health. They kill his job interviews, his efforts to look for work, and his self-confidence. They destroy his relationships with co-workers, family and friends. Demons help each other in the process of destroying this mans life, the spirit of jealousy, hatred, judgement, and unforgiveness. So when you gossip about someone you are putting curses on that poor soul just because you want to look better in the eyes of others than he does. There are other ways of putting curses on someone. You don't have to go to a witch doctor to put curses on someone, but this can happen too. That is why the third world countries are in such bad shape. The worst way to put a curse on someone is to say something mean or hateful when you are mad. You call someone stupid, or wothless. There are commercials on tv that teach people to not say mean and demeaning things to children. When you call a child stupid, you are not pushing him into believing he is stupid, you are putting a curse on him, and the spirit of stupidity will get on him. Every mean thing you say about someone is the very spirit that is dispatched to wreak havok in his life. I have personally suffered many years of poverty because of curses put on me by people in my past. Next |
