EPISODE 1: L.A. FIRE

- Summary: The members of Fire Co. 132 deal with a deadly serial arsonist. New member, Erin Coffey, learns the ups and downs of firefighting while struggling to cope with her overbearing, alcoholic, fire chief father and crush on a married Captain Jack Malloy. Experienced firefighter, Kay Rizzo, loses an accident victim and her control. Not one to let emotions out, Kay fears that she "let (her team members) see", but befriends Erin and confides in her a long hidden secret. Jack tries making peace within his team, after Firefighter Phil Regan utters a racist remark which infuriates Ray. Ray Grimes, a good fireman, won't let personal grudges interfere with work. When Phil falls through a burning tennement roof, Ray puts his own life on the line to try and save him. Unfortunately, it's still too late.

EPISODE 2: TILL DEATH DO US PART

- Summary: Jack blames himself for the death of best friend, Phil Regan and his fire service dedication has taken a toll on his marriage. His wife, Laura, draws the line, leaving him. The replacement, Mike Durning, arrives too soon after Phil's death for Jack to bare. Mike comments, "Life goes on," to a greiving Jack, who takes it personally, marking the start of a long feud between them. It's the last straw, for Ray, after learning his drug addicted brother, Bobby, landed himself in jail. Current events force Jack to rethink things concering his marriage. But Laura won't listen. Jack visits Phil's grave, to sort things out and to move on.

Episode 3: IT'S A FAMILY AFFAIR

Ray is furious that Bobby won't take the DA's deal that could get his brother off the hook. Phil's widow tells Jack that she may be moving to Seattle. Dick's alcoholism takes its toll. The doctor tells him if he doesn't quit soon, he could die. Kay saves Jack's life at a fire scene. A fire weakened roof caves in on J.B. and Erin. The story continues in the next episode...

EPISODE 4: THE FIRE DOWN BELOW

- Summary: Erin is stuck in the fourth floor of a burning house. With the help of Ray and J.B. she makes it to safety just in time. Later, a vehement argument errupts between Erin and Dick, when she insults her father as being an alcoholic. The next day, Erin shocks Jack when she tells him she applied for a transfer. Dick collapses, when he tries to keep of an asian trader from shooting at a youthful loafer. A corpulent boy is stuck in a drain-pipe as he plays. Kay tries an unconventional rescue method. The noise of a chainsaw scares him so much, that he frees himself. Jack's team is called to a decayed house. When the fire is almost extinguished, the ceiling of the entrance breaks down and buries Erin and J.B. (summary provided by Matthias)

EPISODE 5: CURIOUSER AND CURIOUSER

- Summary: With chainsaws and mere hands the firefighters try to save their buried colleagues, Erin and J.B. from the ruins. Shortly before Erin runs out of oxygen, she is freed and reanimated by Jack. After that successful rescue, Jack and Kay end up in bed together. The morning after, they decide to keep the affair a secret. Bernie finds in a burned building hints to the serial arsonist, who has done his foul work for weeks. When Bernie enters the house once more, he discovers a man named Norman, who was hiding in the darkness. Erin withdraws her transfer request because of gratitude for her rescue. EPISODE 6: A MAD TEA PARTY

- Summary: This summer finale wraps up the ongoing plot line concerning the serial arsonist who has been causing mayhem for Station 132. Bernie cracks the case, and the culprit is a surprise to everyone. But the arsonist is released on bail, and everyone once again fears for their lives. Meanwhile, Jack loses some friends including Erin, when he testifies against Chief Coffey because of his drinking problem. The episode is a satisfying conclusion to one story, and a good tease for an episode Seven. Too bad some of us may never see it.

EPISODE 7: SO WHAT ELSE HAPPENED

- Summary: Bernie enters upon the succession of Dick as the new chief of department 132. He reminds Jack, that the rivalry between his team and the 128 of Reseda may not impair the work. Shortly afterwards, Jack meets an old friend. Jed Neal is rescue pilot in a newly formed unit. A pregnant woman gets a taxi into an accident with Lenny, who borrowed a Porsche from the doctor Janey Markle. When it turns out that the russian taxi driver is a doctor, he and Lenny go about to do the obstetrics. After the delivery, the woman must be flown in a dramatic rescue in Jed's helicopter to the hospital. Patrick Ryan celebrates the birthday of his daughter, Jessica in a office building set up by him and gives her a little dog as a present. When a fire breaks out in an elevator, Ryan and Jessica are trapped. After Jack saves father and daughter from the flames, he goes back into the house to get the dog. (summary provided by Matthias)

EPISODE 8: THE BIG ONE

- Summary: An enormous earthquake shakes Los Angeles. After the first confusion, Kay realizes with horror, that the neighboring house is completely broken down. She and Ray try to help a newlywed couple, who are buried under the ruins. The search for the woman is a race against time, because a waterboiler threatens to inflame a gas leak. After the quake, Bernie takes his son with a broken leg to the clinic. There, Dr. Janey Markle has opened an emergency hospital in the parking lot. After Bernie calms down, he helps with the extinguish work in a factory in which his cousin is trapped. Meanwhile, Janey is so stressed from the large amount of seriously injured persons, that she doesn't realize immediately the seriousness of the injury of a young girl. Jack is locked up by ruins in his bathroom and listens to the radio of the philosophic thoughts of the moderator about the city of angels. (summary provided by Matthias)

EPISODE 9: LOVE ME DO

- Summary: The crazy radio moderator, Henry June, jumps with a paraglider off a skyscraper during his transmission and drops money over L.A.. With that, he produces a traffic jam and is caught on a current mast - only a few meters away from the deadly cables. Jack's team arrives to rescue him, but have to wait for the electricians. Because of the falling banknotes, a babysitter becomes careless and doesn't notice that her charge falls into a pool. Jack and Kay perform first aid on the five year old girl, but the ambulance doesn't come through to the place of the accident. Jed comes with the helicopter to be at June's disposal, although he had the explicit order not to. The child is rescued, but Jed gets a reproof. At a security lesson in the prison, Jack meets 18-year old Cherie, who immediately becomes importunate. After her release, she appears at Jack. When Cherie comes to prison again a few days later because of shop-lifting, she makes a fire there. Jack arrives with his team and is attacked by Cherie in the smoke. EPISODE 10: THE MATCH

- Summary: A student of a fraternity, who uses the week of vow for absurd campaigns of destruction, keeps Jack's team busy. 22-year old Lance starts the fire alarm, although no fire has broken out. He overdoes it with his next prank when he makes his two victims drunk and locks them in the trunk of a car in a big parking lot. Jack's team must find them before they suffocate in the heat. Bernie's nephew John, shall fight against boxer Rico in a few days. Because at the bet ratings John leads, in the underworld they want to manipulate the fight in Carelli's favor. John refuses to get involved. On the night of the fight, suddenly a fire breaks out in the hall. The enthusiastic paraglider, Michael wants to jump of the famous Saddle Rock, which can't be reached by car. He persuades Jed to fly him onto the rock with the helicopter. EPISODE 11: DEADLY CARGO

- Summary: Through a harmless argument of two juveniles, a truck with a dangerous freight has an accident. Poisonous hydrochloric acid leaks out and immediately kills the driver and an approaching man. Only Ray and J.B. are trained to handle dangerous substances and go in protective overalls to the place of accident. But J.B. has a weighty accident. A chemist calls the attention of the firemen and the arriving special team to the upcoming storm. Hydrochloric acid in combination with water could result in a poisonous cloud. Less than 40 minutes remain to find a suitable substance which will neutralize the hydrochloric acid. Jack goes with Jimmy Howell, who is like a little brother to him, to a baseball game. When they hear about the accident, Jimmy confesses the truth to Jack: he and his friend Dave have the fault on the accident, and Dave is still hiding in a bush near the accident. EPISODE 12: FUEL AND SPARKS

- Summary: After a breaking and entering in the house of the art collector Dorothy Dunnett, a fire breaks out. Jack's team saves the valuable art objects, before the house burns down. The firemen are more worried about the gas, which started the fire. Kay finds out that the same kind of gas completely destroyed a small texan town. The only form of rescue is to drill holes and torch the gas. After a fine club also ends up in smoke, the firefighters find out how to stop the gas with the help of a geologist. When Ray and T.K. want to demonstrate to children the danger of fireworks, a rocket hits close at hand. In the house beside this are a lot of forbidden articles, which are immediately confiscated. But the owner, Peter Chan, gets them back through a complaint. Ray and T.K. decide to stop the practices of Mr. Chan and his handy man, Linus. They follow them to a shopping center, where they want to sell their articles. When suddenly the light goes out Linus and his two customers are locked in. EPISODE 13: TWENTY DEVILS

- Summary: Jed flies Jack and Janey to the project "Doctors without Borders" over the mexican Sierra Madre, when he must make a forced landing in the desert because of a defective washer of his helicopter. In a village nearby Dr. Janey Markle is confronted with a difficult problem. A cholera epidemic has broken out and the village doctor, Dr. Oscar Mendoza, doesn't have enough medicine. Then Jack poisons himself with strawberries, which were washed in contaminated water. He will die if he can't get to a hospital within 12 hours. A race with the time begins. Meanwhile Captain Driver have to let check from labor-unionist reasons, if a troop of female firefighters works as fast as a team of men. Bernie thinks this check is silly, but he has to bend. Erin, Kay and T.K. train for the test. But during the tests, all goes wrong. Before they get the results, an emergency breaks out, and Erin, Kay, and T.K. prove to the captain that they are as fit as their male colleagues. (summary provided by Matthias)
