Guys,
We had a very lengthy discussion yesterday on the above matter and the
outcome of the OC deliberation. While there was no adverse comment on the
proposed figures, HR have been asked to relook into our proposal as what
they have presented yesterday was just a reproduction of our proposal.
They have been directed to come up with the final report by next OC, i.e.,
on Thursday 12/10. Pls refer msg below from VP and Oc secretariat.
... I know you guys are eager for something really positive, but just give us sometime. We hope to conclude our discussion with HR and Engg Mgmt by early next year.
Brgds..

To: President, AMALAE.
Re OC meeting today, our phone conversation and also the 3-hr long meeting we had just now on the package proposed by AMALAE.
This is to re-affirm OC's stand that they :
a) recognize that the situation requires a very urgent and important decision,
b) agree that the solution entails a revision of the current salary
structure in order to discourage further LAE resignation,
c) want the package to take into account incentives & rewards
which are based on activity, productivity and performance,
d) have requested that HR mgmt, Engg mgmt and AMALAE to immediately
negotiate the terms based on those criteria
e) have asked for the outcome of the negotiation to be presented
to OC by next week, 12 Oct 2000 for a decision.
I call on all AMALAE members to please bear a little longer as
a decision on matters such as this must not be done in haste.
Thank you for your understanding.
The note below is an extract of a statement from the OC Secretariat
for your info.

With reference to the OC 101 meeting held this morning and our subsequent
telephone conversation please find below the record of OC discussion on the
above matter.
1. NOTED:
i. AMALAE's proposal on the above and acknowledged that the matter needs to be addressed seriously.
ii. Reiterated comments made at last OC 100 meeting held on 28
Sep 00 that the proposal needs to be based on productivity and
performance and to be mapped to the framework that has been
adopted for the Company
iii. It would be necessary to study AMALAE's proposal closely and to
reframe it as per the above
iv. In doing this, the study is to take into account all comments
and inputs made by the OC
Thank you.
