Resulting from this new M of U the following will be effected : 1. 10% salary revision with effect 1st September 1999 to pilots in the service of the Company as at the following dates for payment of salary arrears :- i. October 2000 salary : 4 months arrears (Sept-Dec 99) ii. December 2000 salary : 5 months arrears (Jan - May 00) iii. March 2001 salary : 4 months arrears (Jun-Sept 00) Note : EPF and income tax will be deducted accordingly. 2. ALAN CHASE CURRIER Dear fellow colleagues, After the successful conclusion of the MoU on 30th August 2000, we have been receiving numerous queries as to the detailed content of this MoU. MAPA has presented all the necessary information to the Company to enable them to print individual copies of the MoU, for the members. We have however been told that, it will take upto one month for these copies to be printed. In the light of this information, we reproduce herewith some of the salient points which may answer the questions that you have. (SCHEDULE 3) --------------------------============-------------------------- THIRD SCHEDULE ( Article 10 ) SALARY RANGES PREAMBLE With effect from 1st September 1999, a pilot's salary shall be restructured by combining the prevailing Salary and Aircraft Type Salary into a new Basic Salary. This new basic salary shall then be revised by 10%. A pilot whose salary, after the 10% salary adjustment as of 1st September 1999, falls below the minimum of the new salary range, shall have his salary adjusted to the minimum. Resulting from this restructuring, new salary ranges have been formulated for Narrow Body Turbo Prop, Narrow Body Jet and Wide Body Jet defined as follows - Co-pilots - Narrow Body Twin engine, single aisle, sub-sonic aircraft between 10,000 kg and 70,000 kg Wide Body Jet Twin/multi-engine, double aisle, sub-sonic aircraft between 70,001 kg and 400,000 kg Captains - Narrow Body Turbo prop Twin engine, single aisle, sub-sonic aircraft below 30,000 kg Narrow Body Jet Twin engine, single aisle, sub-sonic aircraft between 30,001 kg and 70,000 kg Wide Body Jet Twin/multi-engine, double aisle, sub-sonic aircraft between 70,001 kg and 400,000 kg When a pilot progresses to a new fleet, the date on which he qualifies for the payment of the new salary range shall be as follows: (a) Captain ------- The date on which he first undertakes Line Training aft successful completion of type endorsement. (b) First Officer/Second Officer ---------------------------- The date on which he first undertakes Line Training without the supervision of an operational Co-Pilot. (c) First Officer to Captain ------------------------ The date on which he is issued his Flight Status Certificate. CLAUSE 1 - SECOND OFFICERS -------------------------- 1.1 A Cadet Pilot shall be appointed as a Second Officer on probation, after type endorsement and will receive RM3,383 per month. 1.2 A Second Officer on posting to fleet and not under the supervision of another Co-Pilot will receive RM4,055 per month during the first year after posting to fleet, RM4,288 per month during the second year after posting to fleet and RM4,534 per month after the third year after posting to fleet. 1.3 A Second Officer who fails the proficiency check for promotion for First Officer will continue to be paid according to paragraph 1.2 above until he passes his proficiency check for promotion to First Officer. CLAUSE 2 - FIRST OFFICERS ------------------------- 2.1 The salary range for a First Officer shall be: FLEET MINIMUM MAXIMUM --------------------------------------- Narrow Body RM4,787 RM7,601 --------------------------------------- Wide Body RM7,317 RM9,351 ======================================= 2.2 A First Officer is eligible for an annual increment of 4% of his salary within the above salary range. 2.3 A First Officer who passes or is granted exemption from the complete ATPL examinations will be granted one and a half (1½) increments within the above salary range. 2.4 A First Officer who obtains the ATPL will be granted three (3) increments within the above salary range. 2.5 A First Officer who obtains the ATPL and who has previously been granted one and a half (1½) increments under Clause 2.3 above shall be entitled only to a further one and a half (1½) increments within the above salary range. 2.6 Notwithstanding the salary range above, a First Officer who reaches the maximum of the salary range and who possesses the ATPL will, upon reaching his next incremental date be eligible to receive an increment of 4% of his salary each year up to a maximum period of three (3) years. 2.7 Notwithstanding the above salary ranges, pilots whose salary, after the 10% salary adjustment as of 1st September 1999, exceed the maximum salary ranges, shall be paid the full revision on a personal to holder basis. 2.8 A First Officer on being promoted to Captain will be granted a salary increase of 4% and emplaced within the Captains' salary range.
