25/10 /2000 wed Dear Friends, I have just talked to the Amalae Chairman to get him to throw some light on the on going rumour about the lae pay. This is basically what he replied and would like you guys to know. Please bear in mind before you pass judgement that he and his team is working towards a better working environment and pay which mean that lae have more quality time at home. However the team sampled it against ASU ops and also MASA laes. Both the cases differ from AMU operation where it require 3 shift with only 2 shift pattern available. This would mean that most of AMU lase would have to ot UFN due to ops requirement. I'm sure most of AMU lae doesnot agree to this. Below are the things that we talked about. EN Rashid have condone me to deliver this message to the AMU laes. 1) Basically pay increase up to 30% depending on number of years. 2) First license to be paid. 3) Productivity pay equivalent to the paid sum of your paid covera ge and prorata on your attendance. 4) Overtime to be paid at a rate of 1 regardless of sunday or ph 5) Public Holiday will be paid. 6) Travelling perks equivalent to what the executives are getting. The shortcomings. ---------------- 1) The pay max pay increase for the guys who hit celing is rm1170 base 0n 30% of 3900 and a newly passed out lae is 190 for 10% of 1900 2) The productivity allowance does not effect your hourly rate. 3) The amount of allowance paid is still company perogative 4) Any lae suspended would suffer tremendously. 5) AMU laes would be force to stay even if they dont want to as me chanic overtime depended on laes staying back. 6) AMU laes are forced to stay due operational requirement. No laes would turn up on Sundays and a/c have to be retime for a longer down time. 7) With a sample calculation of the lae income below (approximate) would clarify further.
