MY GOF SPOTLIGHT/INTERVIEW

ABOUT YOU:
1. What is a typical day like for you?
I get up early, usually by 4:30am. It’s my time on my computer
and it’s quiet in the house. Hubby is off to work by 5:30am.
Grandson Austin (whom we are raising), gets up by 7am and then
it’s getting him fed and off to school or daycare and getting
myself ready for work.
2. Do you work outside the home and if so, what do you do?
I work for myself.
I have my own house cleaning business ~ been at it since 1989.
3. Do you have any children? If so, what are their names and ages?
I have 3 grown daughters—Lannette 37yrs, Lisa soon to be 35yrs and
Sheri 30yrs. I have two step children-Jimmy 40yrs & Heather 30yrs.
4. Do you have any pets? What are they and what are their names?
No pets, but Austin has a goldfish tank. *S*
5. What is your favorite pastime or hobby or craft?
Pastime activities—I’m a RED HAT Lady and
a member of our local community choir.
Hobby or craft--I’m really into scrap booking right now.
I have torn all my photo albums apart and redoing everything!
6. What inspires you?
Handicapped people who go beyond what YOU think they can do
to achieve goals that YOU thought they could never attain.
7. What irritates you?
I cannot tolerate people who lie.
8. What is your favorite thing in life?
Quiet and alone time with Hubby—don’t get much of it with
an active ‘special needs’ grandson living with us. *S*
9. What is your favorite color?
Blue (I also love pink too).
10. What is your favorite type of music? Song, Singer or Group?
I like Old Rock and Smooth Jazz. Elvis will always be my
favorite singer—song ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’
(hubby’s and my song) and other singers are Rod Stewart,
Tina Turner, Tom Jones.
11. What is your favorite Movie? Favorite Actor and/or Actress?
Favorite movies---Titanic and Lord of the Rings.
Actor-John Travolta & Actress-Meg Ryan
12. What is your favorite food? Chinese food
Are you a good cook?
My kids think so. Whenever they are home for a visit,
they want their ‘favorites’. They say when they make them
it doesn’t taste like ‘Moms’!
13. What makes you laugh…really laugh!!?
Steve Martin movies—his latest ‘Pink Panther’.
I laughed so hard it made my stomach hurt! *S*
14. Name an event in your life that you will never forget.
9-11 Attack on the USA.
15. If you had a chance to be one person for a day,
who would that person be, and why?
This is a very hard question. I don’t know who the one person
would be, but anyone pertaining to solving the hunger here the USA.
We always hear about and respond to other countries, but we have so
much of it here and homeless too that need help so bad. Our own
people are starving and homeless---it should begin at ‘home’.
ABOUT WHERE YOU LIVE:
16. What part of the world are you in?
Northwest corner of the USA.
17. What traditions are unique to where you live?
We have the usual festivals and such here, but on the beach some
of my favorites are the sand castle building contests and the
huge kite flying festivals/contests on the beach at Long Beach, WA.
18. Are there any famous people—past and present—from your area?
The richest man in the world--Bill Gates lives here!
I don’t know all the names of others who started here, but
we’ve have had musical groups, writers, painters all became
famous who started here.
19. Are there any famous Landmarks or Historical Events from your area?
Mt. St. Helen’s for one.
20. What is your favorite food that is unique to your area?
The seafood. We are known here for clam digging, oysters, salmon fishing.
21. What do you like best about where you live?
It’s always green here.
22. What do you like least about where you live?
We have a lot of rain, that’s why it’s so green here! *S*
23. Is there anything else you’d like to share with our Members
about yourself and/or your area?

ABOUT YOUR ONLINE LIFE:
24. How much time do you spend online and how does your family feel about it?
I’m on my computer early in the am for about 3 hours.
Family is usually asleep and hubby leaves for work early on week days.
25. How much experience do you have on the computer?
I got my first computer April of 1998 and just chatted only.
Then I got tired of doing that and wanted to start a website.
I knew absolutely nothing about html at the time.
26. Have you taken any computer classes, online or off?
No, self taught. I started my website in August of 1998.
I would just look at the page sources of other websites and
saw what had to be typed to get it the way I wanted it to look.
My website has gone thru thousands of changes since then!
27. Did you create your site yourself?
Yes, sure did! *S*
28. Why did you originally create it?
I got tired of just chatting and wanted to do something else
on my computer. I saw other fabulous websites and wanted to
have one like it, so ‘Lady’s Place’ was born. *S*

30. What do you do away from the computer?
For example, do you go fishing or camping?
We have a small RV and love to go camping---especially to the
beach. It's always been my favorite spot to camp or picnic!

31. When did you first join GOF? July 2002
32. How did you find GOF?
I was invited to join by ‘Angel Jo’.
Don’t know if she is still a member or not, or what her actual name was?
33. What committees are you involved with in the Garden?
I am involved with Site of the Week, Recipes and Quilters.
34. If you had a chance to be a Garden Keeper for the day, what would you do?
Oh my, the Garden Keepers are wonderful and do a fantastic job!
I don’t think I could come near to doing as well as they do for GOF.
35. Is there anything you would like to see added or changed in the Garden?
Absolutely nothing, GOF is just great as is!
I am glad I was invited to join.
It’s been the best thing in my life for the last 4 years.
