"Welcome, traveler," she says, smiling. "You are not the first to pass this way, nor are you the last, for this place is ever growing and has always existed here. This is a place of magic and magical creatures, and you must be wary, traveler, for though most of them are friendly, some are not, and the way is not always marked clearly."
She pauses, as though waiting for you to absorb what she has said. You notice that she is striking in appearance, though not what would normally be called beautiful. Her bright green eyes seem to dominate the pale, slightly freckled skin of her face, and her red, curly hair reaches nearly to her waist and seems alive with the moment of the wind and uncontrolled. Her clothes consist of a simple green tunic the color of her eyes with flowing sleeves, a silver belt, tan pants, and a few rings.
After you finish studying her and she looks you over carefully, she speaks again. "Take in the wonders that you see here, but do not take them from their homes. Many can only survive in a place of magic such as this. Keep to the paths and the portals and you will not be harmed. I will be there to guide you if you need me."
With that, she disappears, leaving you with a choice of where to go first. As you look at the various signs, you wonder whether Adlana is human, as she appeared, or something more mystical.
