I don’t own anything but this here SM manga! *manga randomly catches fire* Just my luck... -.-; Prolouge: The Forging of the Silver Alliance It was many years ago when the original Silver Alliance was forged between all of the planets in the galaxy. But that alliance did not last many years, for the outer planets thought themselves better fit to fight their own battles and the planet Earth, with it’s people of short lives, began to grow weary of the alliances’ restrictions. In more recent years, however, a peace was forged among the Outer Planets and the Silver Alliance. Though not brought into the alliance, the outer planets agreed to become neutral to keep open trade. A friendship formed. That only left the planet Earth to be stubbornly against the Silver Alliance. When the death of the their king brought his daughter, Gaia, onto the throne, she immediately called a cease fire and opened negotiations with the Moon. At that time, the queen of the Moon, Serenity, had recently bore a daughter whom was named after her. The Princess Serena, only a babe in arms, had a large role to play in the future of the Earth. For the Queen Gaia had a young son, only three years old at the time, named Endymion for his father. To seal the union of Earth and Moon, the prince and princess were betrothed. Also, as a show of good faith from the Inner Planets who were close members of the Silver Alliance were to supply the Queen of Earth with a bright young boy who they could train to serve the prince as his personal aides. Immediately the boys were hand chosen by the respective rulers and sent to Earth. From Mercury came the intelligent young Zoisite. From Mars came the brave young Jedeite. From Jupiter came the brash young Nephlite. And from Venus came the silent, and aloof young Malachite. The four boys were barely five when they arrived, but the queen approved, and all was well. At the same time, however, the Queen of the Moon was sending a request to each of the royals of the Inner Planets. Her daughter would need a court, and Serenity knew this. It was luck that each of the royal families was blessed with a daughter. And so the young princesses would be sent to the Moon when they aged a bit more. Afterall, Serena would have no use for a court until she could stand properly, would she? And so when Princess Serena turned four, her court arrived. Each of the girls who arrived was a year older than the princess, and each was confused as why they were on the Moon. The princess of Mercury, Ami, reacted with only sad eyes. She did not question her parents, however, only stood silent until they hugged her and told her good-bye. The princess of Mars, Rei, reacted a bit more violently. She held her mother fiercely and fought and cried, until her father told her that behaving like a baby would get her no where. She quieted, crying, and told them good-bye. The princess of Jupiter, Lita, only cried and rubbed at her eyes after her parents had turned to leave. The princess of Venus, Mina, thought to beg her parents not to leave, but saw what it had done for the others girls, she silently kissed each parent and asked when she would be allowed to visit. This sent her mother crying. And so, the girls began their training as senshi, and the boys were put into training as well. And there was peace, for a time. Chapter One; In a Time of Peace Princess Mina, of the planet Venus, sighed slightly, blowing strands of her golden hair out of her face. The wind was gentle, as it always was on the Moon. Her eyes searched the morning sky. She felt trapped. The Moon was so small a place, she mused. So tiny, and yet so important. She missed Venus. It wasn’t the largest planet, by far, but it was her home. The wind there always smelled of roses and lilac, and the sounds of crashing waves was not a rarity. She sighed. You couldn’t hear that on the Moon. Everything here was so... fake. She missed the real thing. It had been nearly a year since she’d been home. Her parents, whom had changed very little, always greeted her home with a banquet and a ball to welcome her. She smiled. She seemed to glow from the smile. She resembled very closely the goddess Venus from Earthian legends, and though she’d never admit it her mother’s bloodline was descended from the great goddess of love. And so her golden hair and porcelain features made her appear celestial. “Lady Venus, a word?” Mina turned her head slightly and saw that the Queen Serenity was standing before her. “Yes, milady?” Mina spoke, standing upright. Serenity rung her hands slightly. “I’m worried about you, Venus. You’ve become so sad in these last days. I wonder, is something troubling you?” the queen asked. Mina forced a fake smile onto her face. “Of course not, my queen. I’m sorry to have worried you.” Mina replied. She excused herself and hurried towards her rooms. Once she was sure she was alone, she leaned against the wall and closed her eyes. Something was troubling her, and she couldn’t pinpoint what. She didn’t have foresight, like her close friend the princess Rei, so that could not have been it. And yet, it seemed that it might just be what was wrong. She sighed, and tried to shrug the feeling off. It didn’t leave, but it did push to the back of her mind, letting her worry about a more immediate issue. She had to get some training in today, and she knew it. It was already late in the morning, but she might yet be able to make it onto the field alone for awhile. Looking carefully around, more by habit than anything for it was common knowledge among the staff that she was a senshi, she slipped her wand from her pocket and tranformed into the golden senshi, Sailor Venus. She walked down the hallway, and out into a large, colosseum-like arena. At various points on the field training stations were set up. Nearest her was the archery field. All four of the senshi were required to train until competence at each station, at Venus’ urgings, but Sailor Mars was by far the best at the archery. She had the fastest hand and the sharpest eye. A bit further than that was a place for long staves dueling. Venus smiles slightly. She wasn’t the best there, either, that honor went to the Jovian, Sailor Jupiter. She was the strongest, and the limberest. Straight across from where Venus stood was an obstacle course of sorts. The honor of greatest at that went to Sailor Mercury, the only of the team to be mostly a defensive fighter. Though there were others, the last station that came readily to Venus’ mind was the combat simulations, for sword training. Of that, no one had yet bested the senshi from Venus. And so Venus trained in the simulations for nearly an hour. She barely sweated when she stopped, but she was satisfied that she’d won the battle. She turned it off and grabbed a towel from the bench to wipe her forehead. She sighed. It was not long before she must appear at breakfast, she knew. So she powered down into her normal clothes and returned to her rooms to freshen up and change. She was late for breakfast anyway, and found that her friends had not in fact waited for her. She didn’t mind, and couldn’t blame them. She plastered a smile on her face as she sat down and apologized for her tardiness. “Did our fearless leader sleep in this morning?” Princess Lita teased, passing a plate of starfruit pastries, one of Lita’s favorites, to make or eat. Mina took one with a smile. “Oh, do behave Lita. Mina’s been up and hard at work already this morning.” Ami chimed in. The blue-haired girl nibbled at a piece of fresh melon. “I was only teasing, Ami. Mina knows that, right?” Lita said, glancing at Mina, who nodded and laughed a bit. “Of course.” she giggled. The five girls ate, exchanging small talk and jokes. Mina joined in, of course, but she had a hard time getting into the spirit. Something was bothering her deeply, and she wanted to know what. Something was weighing her down, and eating at her. She shivered unconsciously. “Girls, girls. I have an announcement.” it was the Queen. Everyone silenced. Even Serena, who was well into an argument with her dearest friend, though it must seem like her most bitter enemy, Rei. “As you well know, my daughter’s sixteenth birthday is coming very soon.” she began. Serena beamed and Mina sent her friend a smile that for a moment was genuine. “For her birthday this year, I have invited the young prince of Earth, Endymion.” Serena’s eyes grew wide and she smiled. “Oh Mother!” she laughed. “I thought it only fitting, of course. Serena is to marry the young man in a year or two. I thought it best that she meet him first.” the queen explained. Mina nodded slightly. This meant that security during the ball would be a bit tighter. With two important royals in one ballroom- She stopped herself. She was already thinking of the security. She sighed silently. “When is the prince to arrive?” Rei asked politely. It was obvious that she wanted to have a word with the man herself. It was well known that Rei loved Serena like her sister, they all did, and this extended to having a ‘discussion’ with any male that came near her. “Prince Endymion and his envoy are to arrive in two days time. They’ll be here for a week’s time.” the queen explained. Serena shrieked with joy, and Lita was already bubbling over with excitement. Even the more contained Ami and Rei were interested and one could even say looking forward to this. Mina forced herself to match their interest in the matter. It was harder than it should have been. |
