The Betrayal

Groaning, Serena felt her eyelids twitching. She felt drugged. Her eyelids felt like 2 gigantic stones, weighed down by the enormous pressure of gravity. Finally, after the big ordeal of opening her eyes, she realized something was extremely wrong with the picture she saw in front of her. It was too dark, and she didn't recognize where she was.

"Huh? Where am I?" she asked loudly to no one but herself. She rubbed at her temples, and saw the glinting of metal by her right leg. "My locket!" she cried, gripping the precious trinket to her chest, suffocating it with the strange material of the dress she was wearing.

"Ah, so you're awake," a voice said, slicing through the silence that had bestowed upon the room with its presence. "My, I never expected you to wake up this early, after your first dose of dark energy. It usually takes people forever, but you.... I should have expected it, you are Sailor Moon."

Serena had never expected anyone to talk. She knew that voice… it was familiar. It was that man. "Diamond!" she suddenly squeaked out. She had no clue why she was in a bedroom of some sort with a crazy prince of the dark moon.

"You remembered me. Well, you are so intelligent. Of course, you are Sailor Moon, and from her I can only expect the most." His form was barely seen, it was practically a shadow itself. He seemed to be wrapped up in the darkness. He spoke again, light chitchat. "Do you like the room?" he asked encompassing the room with a sweeping gesture of an evil hand. "It doesn't matter your opinion though. This is the room you will be spending a lot of you time in from now on. So, if you hate it, learn to like it fast."

Serena gasped. "Well, if you must know, I hate this room, and most of all, I hate you!" she cried, wincing inwardly. What she said was harsh.

"It doesn't matter, like I said," he told her, making himself fully visible. "This is where you will be spending your time. Learn to like it." He then sneered at her, his lips twisted upwards in one sick motion.

"Just you wait!" cried the frightened scout, "Darien will be here and then he will save me! He will come! Just you wait and see, he wouldnt let you live after he saw this!" Serena's mouth ran nonsense.

"Save you, ne?" Diamond challenged. He was so very sure that he would not show up. "Why have him when you can have me?" Diamond crossed his arms then hovered above the bed.

Serena gasped. "Darien is the only one for me!" she defiantly told the figure that was so sure Darien would not come in on a white horse and rescue her.

"You are the only one for me, this you shall see. Come here." With a flick of a pointer, Sailor Moon found herself floating up to meet the prince. "Once you taste the dark power, you will not want to be without it. Just make it easy for yourself." Diamond cupped her chin with his hand. Serena felt the warmth transfer from it to her face.

"No, this is wrong!" she cried trying to break free. Feeling the tears slip down her cheeks, she thought forlornly about what could happen to her.

"Nothing is wrong," soothed Diamond, smiling warmly down at her. "This is how it should be." Serena watched in horror as his face got closer and closer with each passing second. Soon, she could feel the tickle of his hot breath wafting over her face in currents. Her nose crinkled in disgust. He had been drinking too much wine. His lips, were only centimeters away, about to brush against hers softly, sweetly....

"Unhand her!" a voice demanded. Diamond lost his control, and Serena fell to the bed.

"Darien!" Serena cried back. "You came!"

Darien landed on his two feet expertly, next to the bed.

Diamond all the while floated there, above the scene in thought. "You pig! How dare you try to brainwash my Serena!" Darien threatened.

Serena clambered off the bed and into the secure and warm arms of Darien. "Darien!" He held her sweetly.

A smirk was emitted from the hovering figure. Serena buried her head in Darien’s shirt, all the while tightening her grip.

"Serena, lets get out of here, ok?" he said, tugging her away from the scene. That's when he felt it, the horrible pain in his left wing bone, radiating in waves throughout his body. "AHHH!" He collapsed. "Serena! Save yourself," he whispered as she let go of him.

An unfamiliar laugh filled the air. "Oh Darien... look at how pathetic you are!" Serena laughed. She had shoved a crystal of a deep black into his back, and she saw how he gazed at it with fear in his eyes, enjoying the moment.

"Serena?" he asked in horror, watching her float up to Diamond. Diamond just smirked evilly down at the fallen prince of the earth. "Why, how did you do this Diamond?"

"Well, seeing that you wont be around long," Diamond sighed, "I guess we can tell you." He wrapped his arms around Serena's waist, pulling her taut against him.

"Serena! He has brainwashed you! Don't listen to him!"

A laugh escaped from deep within her throat, and this time it made him throe. "I am not brainwashed Darien. I love Diamond, he will be true to me. And I can be where I want to be with him. I have seen the dark and I like it." She put her hand on Diamonds chest and ran her finger along him playfully. "He can satisfy me."

"Serena! Think with your heart, remember… mmm, the moon. Don't give up w-what we h-have built over t-the cen-tu-turies!" he gasped out in pain.

"Darien, can’t you accept that she doesn't love you anymore? She isn't Serenity. She is her own person. Let her choose, and she chooses to love me. Get it through your thick skull. I can give her the world she wants." Diamond looked then at Serena. He leaned towards her, resting his forehead against hers. "Shall we go?"

Serena looked down at Darien, disgust shining on her face. "Sure," she said.

Darien watched in horror at what happened next. Right in front of him, Diamond leaned towards Serena, kissing her passionately, hands moving demandingly over her body. And she didn’t stop him... something was majorly wrong.

And as he faded, he saw them walk hand and hand away to share the rest of their lives in utter evil, leaving him alone in the darkness.
