W
ings, wings, and more wings!! These two pages go out to all the lovers of wings out there. I'm here to show you where all the good wing places are in the area and to tell you who has the best wings. You might think Lar is crazy and may even think not many people even like wings. Well, some people don't like wings, but there are plenty of people who do. For instance, the Sunday of the 2005 Super Bowl, Dynamic Wings of Sunbury sold 17,163 wings, yes 17k. Sit back and enjoy the wings!

Wingy Locations

What's in a rating? Well, just like the Wing Tour of 2001, the overall rating comes from different factors. We judge not only the taiste and size of wings, but the eating environment and even the blue cheese. Even though each different factor was displayed, I will now just go with the overall rating.

Rating (Out of 10)

7.5-
Rob's Six Pack Shack- 257 S. Market St., Shamokin, PA. (570) 644-1191
You wouldn't think theres wings in this little shack, but yes there is. In fact, there are 18 flavors. The hot were excellant and the Zesty Ranch were awesome. Wing night is Wednesday at $3.50 a dz, while the normal price goes for $5.50. Although this seems high to me, this is about the norm these days. Anyhow, This is one of the best place to get wings in the Coal Region, so give it a try.

8.5-
Dynamics Wings and Subs- Orchard Hills Shopping Plaza, Shamokin Dam, PA. (570) 884-WING.
This is one of the better places to get wings in the area. They have over 20 wing flavors and a variety of other foods. Dynamics also gets my prize for hottest wings in the area. The size of the wings are large and come at a good price. 10-$4.99 25-$9.99 50-$19.99 100-$36.99. Dynamics can sit about 30 people and has some very friendly staff members.

5.3-
Wings and Things- 543 W. Front St., Berwick, PA. (570) 759-3341.
Wings and Things is ok, but there's no where to really sit down with friends. The wings are medium and the flavors aren't really anything to talk about. I only suggest going here for pick-up and if you live in or around Berwick.

6.5-
The Eagle Hotel- 1361 Mountain Rd., Linglestown, PA. (717) 545-2839.
Well, the Eagle Hotel boasts, "The best in Central PA." and there probably not too far off.  I only got 10 of Honey Mustard and 10 of Hot, but they were pretty big and good. The price for 10 is a little high, ($6.50) but the price for 20 is a little better at $10.50. I was going to try there Sudden Death, in which you must sign a waivor, but they were 5 for $6.50!  I was a little miffed and while I was talking about it they musta knew I was a critic cause they actually gave me 30 wings instead of 20. Some flavors are Meltdown, Suicide, Sweet Hot.

8.6-
The Country Tavern- Route 104, Middleburg, PA. (570) 837-7501.
Well, this place is just insane on Monday nights. All-you-can-eat wings and fries for only $5.00. This is about a 40 minute drive from Shamokin, but damn worth it. The buffet just doesn't mean 4 or 5 flavors either, try 45. I can't list them all here, but some of them are Peanut Butter, Garlic Parm., and Teriyaki. During the week the wings go for .35 cents, which is $4.20 a dz. The Tavern also has alot of other foods for the non-wing eaters and has a small, but nice restaurant style to it. One word of advice, if your going on a Monday, call for reservations.

7.4- The Herndon House- N. Main St., (Route 147) Herndon, PA. (570) 758-9126.
This place I think is the best setting for not just wing eaters, but for anyone. The Herndon House doesn't just have wings, but a wide variety of foods, including seafood, steaks, and an assortment of fries. Anyhow, wing night is Wednesday with a dozen going for about $3.75 a dz. The usual price is $4.25 a dz.They have 19 flavors, including Pizza, Cajun Fire & Death, and Hawian. The size of the wings are  medium, but the taiste just isn't strong enough for me.  However, its still a good stop if your on Rt.125. On a side note, this place was the crew's hangout before Dynamics.
