I - 40: The universal Light that is within is indicated by the
symbolism of the empty Space in Chidambaram – which word itself means the Space
of Consciousness. Empty Space indicates the presence of the Awareness of
emptiness. This indication is the symbolism meant by the word lingaM.
The etymology of the word lingaM shows that it points to the principle
hidden within itself. All this
universe is established in That Universal Principle of Consciousness. The
declaration of this Uniformity of the Substratum is called the music of the sAma that is, that which sings the Glory of
the Bliss within.
The discussion now
switches to the esoteric concept about gangA

I - 41, 42: That which comes from the Lord is the Lord Himself.
Birth means manifestation of what was unmanifest earlier. Thus whether it is ganGA or gitA or gAyatrI -- they all
are different manifestations of the same Absolute. The rivers gangA, sarasvatI and yamunA manifest
different facets of such manifestation. gangA

I- 43: The utmost authority for everything in this sanAtana-dharma
is the collection of the Vedas. The purpose of the Vedas is to take us to the
ultimate spiritual achievement, namely the Realisation of the Self. What we see
or infer in our worldly activities is after all transitory because our
attention never stays in any one of them. The Vedas which tell us what the
Ultimate Truth is, are said to be the very breath of
the Almighty Absolute. So they should be our ultimate refuge. And that is the
way we have to cross the ocean of misery.

I - 44, 45: Radha is the presiding deity for prANa, the vital
air. The Energy behind this prANa is the Lord Himself. The spark of this
energy is gAyatrI. The spark is nothing but the Light from which it
sparks. The universe therefore filled with those sparks is just the Lord
Himself. The identity between the Word and its Meaning indicates that the words
of the gItA, which have come from the mouth of the Lord
are the personifications of His Energy, that is the goddess umA. The rudra-hRdayopaniiSad
which is taught to the sage zuka by vyAsa says exactly this.

I - 46: The pervasion of the Absolute in everything is not a
physical phenomenon. It is a subtle fact as well as mystic feat. In the trivikrama-avatara,
if the little vAmana filled up the whole world it is because of His mAyA.
That was only for the moment. But what is an eternal pervasion is beyond the
concrete plane of understanding. It is to that Absolute
we should surrender by a process of the melting of our hearts.
