Every Single Part Of Me
Story by Daisy
~~*Chapter Seven*~~
We sat silently in her driveway that night after I had just pulled up.
“Do you wanna come in?” She asked me, turning to look at me sideways. Oh hell yes, I think she’s starting to come around. I couldn’t wait. I leaned over and kissed her mouth hard.
Knock, knock, knock!!!
We jumped apart nervously at an insistent rapping on the passenger seat window. Bethany bent down so she could see who was tapping her window.
“Mom!” She sounded surprised but jumped out of the car, hugging her. “What are you doing here?”
“Can’t we visit our daughter without a reason?” Her mother’s voice came to my ears. I slowly got out of the car, opening the trunk and trying not to be seen. I hate parents. Especially when I’m just gonna hump and dump the girl…
“And who is this fine young gentleman?” Her mother’s hand slid across my back in a motherly way.
“Mother,” Bethany said obviously embarrassed. “This is Nick Carter.”
“Nice to meet you,” I turned and shook her hand politely.
“And it’s nice to meet you!” By the tone of her voice I could tell that Bethany hadn’t brought too many guys home to mom. I turned back to the trunk and began unloading Bethany’s things and carried them to the house, waiting while she let me in. I dropped the stuff just inside the doorway and turned to Bethany.
“Gotta run!” I whispered, kissing her cheek quickly and trying to make an escape.
“No! Stay for dinner!” Her mother’s hand grabbed my arm and held me prisoner. I groaned inwardly but flashed her a smile. She walked inside and I touched Bethany’s elbow lightly and when she turned to look at me, I gave her a look that said it all. She opened her mouth but her mother called from the kitchen,
“Bethy, how in the world do you turn this thing on?” She left me standing alone in the doorway. I was just making myself comfortable on the couch when her mother came and sat next to me.
“How long have you two been dating?” She asked in an excited whisper.
“We only met about a week ago. Right now we’re just friends.” As soon as the words were out of my mouth, her face dropped. “I’m gonna see if Bethany needs any help in the kitchen.” I got up quickly and nearly ran to the kitchen.
“Did she ask if we were dating?” Bethany asked nonchalantly, pouring water into the coffee machine.
“Yeah.” She finished pouring and looked at me.
“And?” She prompted.
“And what?”
“What did you tell her?” Her voice was quiet and her eyes were shining bright. She moved slightly closer to me. “What did you tell her?” She asked again.
My stomach tightened as I realized that I hadn’t told her mother right. She had wanted me to give her a different answer. She slowly slid her hand in mine.
“I told her that we only met a week ago.” Her hand slid away from mine and she turned back to her coffee. “And that right now we’re just friends.” She turned her back to me and began filling the coffee filter with grains. I walked up behind her and put my hands on her shoulders, placing my lips not far from her ear and whispered, “so far.” Her hand stopped. “We could be more than friends…if that’s what you want.”
I decided to seal the deal with a kiss. I softly touched my lips to her spaghetti-strap clad shoulder and let them linger for only a second. She turned only a bit and I wrapped my arms around her waist from behind her. Her hand slid over my clasped ones and the other hand wrapped around behind her and gently touched my cheek. We both leaned in for a kiss. Her lips were soft and warm, moving lightly over mine. I began to open her mouth with my tongue.
“What’s taking so long?” Bethany’s mother called to us. We
separated quickly and I walked back into the living room, licking my lips. If
we keep getting interrupted, I’ll never get to the good stuff. I thought,
sitting down next to Bethany’s mother and making small talk. I’ve only
got fourteen days left to nail her. I shook the thought from my mind and
continued talking with her mother.
