~~*Chapter Ten*~~
“Oh, Nicky.” Heather cooed, wrapping her arms around my chest and hugging me tightly. She had come over the day after we came back from the club to comfort me, but I really didn’t notice her presence there.
“I didn’t even know I loved her until it was too late and she was walking away from me. No she ran. She ran away from me.” I ran a hand through my hair.
“Poor baby.” Heather whispered, settling down in my lap. She entwined her fingers in my hair and began massaging my neck. I just sat there, thinking about Bethany.
Heather leaned down and began kissing my neck. I titled my head towards hers and let her kiss me. She came back up and kissed my mouth, reaching for my shirt. I helped her pull it over my head and watched as she did the same to herself. I closed my eyes and allowed myself to get lost in her kisses.
“Oh, Bethany,” I heard myself say as I slid my fingers into Heather’s soft hair. She stopped kissing my chest and looked at me. “Heather, I’m sorry…”
“No, it’s okay.” She grabbed her shirt and pulled it on, getting up from the couch. She turned to me just before she walked out my front door. “Nick, find her. Talk to her and tell her how you feel. You need her.” And with that, she left.

“Man, I’m sorry for yelling at you like that at the club.” I apologized to AJ later on at a restaurant. “I was just crazed after…after losing Bethany.”
“It’s alright, Nick.” He shook my hand. “I’m sorry for completely screwing over your relationship. I mean, I was so drunk I didn’t even know what I was saying anymore.”
I nodded and took a bite of my sandwich. We made small talk for a while and, just before we left, AJ asked me a question that I had no answer for.
“How are you gonna get her back?”
I shook my head sadly. “I don’t think I will.”
