Chapter 8: Don't Want You Back
????
I knew what had to be done as I jumped into my car. All I had to do was find him. That wouldn't be too hard since I had overheard him telling Howie where he was going.
I was glad that I had thought to bring a map. I used the light from the gas station to find where he would be. Florida Avenue...Del Rio Drive...La
Seria...ha! Just what I was looking for! He had said that he was going to take his nightly jog along a street called Beamer Road. I trailed my finger along the route that I would have to take to get there.
I left the gas station and found my way to Beamer pretty easily. Right before I had turned onto the road, I made sure to turn off my headlights. I was glad that I had taken this car because the engine was extremely quiet. I searched the dark road for him. It wasn't hard to find him. He was the bastard that was jogging along the road in a bright outfit. Leave it to him to wear something like that!
I got behind the bouncing silhouette and drove about fifty yards behind him. This is it! My mind was racing. I knew exactly what I had to do. I just couldn't stand this hate anymore. Get ready for it!
I took a deep breath. I had a huge smile on my face. The excitement was overwhelming. I took one last breath before I floored the accelerator.
I was about ten feet behind him, coming at him at about 103 miles per hour before I flipped on my lights. His head jerked towards me and I saw a look of surprise just before I hit him.
CRRRRASHHH!!!!
I was greeted with a satisfying crunch as I connected with his body. I backed up and drove my car off the road and into the forested area to watch him suffer.
It was about five minutes before I spotted the headlights. I was a little ticked because I had enjoyed watching him squirm around in pain. Hearing his pained cries was even more satisfying. I had rolled down my window just so I could hear his cries better.
I watched as the car drove right past his body. Then, to my dismay, the car reversed and stopped right beside his body. I watched as a girl about fourteen jump out of the car.
"Mom!" She began screaming hysterically. I watched as she knelt down beside his body and checked for a heart beat. I hoped that she wouldn't find one.
"Mom! Call 9-1-1!" The girl was smarter than she looked. She ripped off a piece of her T-shirt and wrapped it around his mangled leg.
"Damn." I said. I could no longer see the huge gash that I had made on his leg.
The girl grabbed his hand and held it.
"We're on Beamer Road..." The mother was obviously talking to the 9-1-1 operator. She covered the mouthpiece with her hand. "Shelly, do you know who the man is?"
I do! I couldn't help but to give a little chuckle.
"Yeah," the girl looked again at him. "He's AJ McLean from the Backstreet Boys."
The mom's jaw dropped. She then recomposed herself and repeated the information to the 9-1-1 operator.
I decided that it was about time that I left the scene. I turned on the engine. I was far enough away that it would look like I had just driven up. I decided to go towards the scene and just keep driving.
My plan worked because the girl and her mom didn't even see me.
"Woo!" I hollered. I blasted the radio. My heart was racing with excitement and a huge rush. That was so exciting!! Now I would have to test my acting skills. I had to act cool when the guys would tell me the news. As if I didn't already
know!
