Don't Want You Back

Epilogue: AJ

"Hey, B-Rok! Catch!" I called, throwing a bottle of water in Brian's direction. To say the least, I was much better. And so was my friendship with Brian.
"Hey, AJ!" I turned to see a pretty girl in a Jeep pull up. I ran over to the car and threw open the door. I picked up the girl, her laughter floating through the air.
"Kiss?" I asked. She planted a sweet one on my lips.
"Oh, AJ, I love you!" I let her down and she threw her arms around my neck. I wrapped her up in my arms, her petite body pushed close to mine.
"Angel, I will always love you," I whispered in her hair.
Since the incident with Melanie, my love life has been doing much better. I had met a sweet girl, a sane girl, named Angel.
What ever happened to the baby? Well we found out later that with the impact of Melanie's stomach hitting the steering wheel when she hit me the baby had suffered a slight concussion and had died a few days later when she and Brian were fighting for the plug. The baby just couldn't take that much force on it's already hurting body.
It was a shock to hear the news but it just made Melanie easier to forget. Well, I'll never completely forget it, but you know what I mean.
We were on a tour break and we all decided to get together for a barbecue at Brian's house.
"Hey, you guys!" Kevin called. "It's ready!"
I wrapped my arm around Angel as we walked over to the picnic table.
"Let's make a toast." Nick said, after we had all been served and seated.
"To Backstreet, that we stay friends forever." Brian said, lifting his coke can.
"To Backstreet!" We all lifted our drinks to our mouths. We all knew that the toast would always be true.
