~~*Chapter Eight*~~

Brian looked up at Leighanne, tears welling up in his eyes. "Leighanne, why couldn't I forgive him right away? Why?" he began sobbing.

"Oh, Brian, honey," Leighanne hugged him. "It's not your fault."

"B-but...it...is!" Brian managed out between sobs. He cried his heart out and suddenly became silent.

"Honey, you can't change that," Leighanne said gently.

"I let him suffer like that," Brian wiped his eyes. "He was truly sorry and I made it worse for him! Why couldn't I forgive him? Why did he have to leave?"

"I don't know honey," Leighanne whispered, tears streaming down her cheeks. "I don't know."
