Justin sat across from Emily in the diner.
"So what are you gonna say when you see her?" Justin asked
"I dunno, hey I'm Emily your daughter!" she laughed
"What else?"
"Ask if she's seeing someone? If she has kids? Why she left?"
"Sounds quaint." justin smiled
"I'm kind of nervous."
"Don't worry she's your mother."
"Ready?"
"Yeah" he smiled getting up. They walked out to the car.
"Jusin?" She smiled
"yeah." He said getting into the car.
"Want your treat?" She smiled
"Alright I can't take no more, give it to me." he laughed
"Get out of the car." She smiled walking over to him.
He got out and she leaned in and turned the radio onto a slow song. This I promise you ws playing. She stood back up and pulled pulled him into her. They slow danced.
"This I promse you....ooohh....I promise you> Justin whispered as the song ended. She leaned up and kissed his soft lips. His tongue parted her lips and dipped into her mouth. Emily had never kissed like this before so she followed his lead. He pulled away sloly and kissed her forehead.
"That was a really nice treat. he said pulling her into a hug.
"I know." She laughed. They got back in the car and made it through two states that day. The next day they made it to Jersey. Then they were standin at her door in NY.
"I...I can't do it." Emily studdered
"Come on Em, she's your mother!" Justing yelled from the car.
Her hand shook as she rang the doorbell. A few moments later the door oepned. Emily smiled nervously at the little girl in front of her. is this my sister?
"Is your mom home?" Emily asked
"Mommy!" the girl cried. An older woman walked over.
"May I help you?" She asked
"Are you .....are you Ellen?"
"Who are you?"
"My name is Emily Parks and I'm looking for my mother."
"Come in."
"Can you help me or not>" she said stepping inside
"You came to the right place."
"No I'm your sister."
"You are?"
"Mom told me all about you."
"Is she here?"
"She's sleeping. Do you want anything to drink?"
"No can you explain how your my sister you look older."
"I am. Mom was married before she met your father. She dissapeared for a year and had you. I wanted to write, but I didn't know what to day. I'm glad you came becaus she's deadly sicl."
"What's wrong with her?"
"She's fighting cancer."
"Can I see her?"
"Go ahead by the way my name is Eden."
"You have a beautiful daughter."
"Her name is Juliet."
"Can you show me mom?"
"This way." She said bringing her into a room. Emily walked over to the bed and sat next to her.
"I've been waiting to see you." Thw womansaid
"You should have wrote to me. You should have came to see me." Em said frustrated
"You're father wouldn't let me. I tried believe me I did. He told me to stop."
"Why did you leave me?"
"I was married. I had an affair with your father. I wanted to keep you really I did."
"My father told me that you were dead."
"He was angry that I didn't stay."
"Im angry you didn't stay."
"I"m sorry Emily."
"I"m sorry too. I wish we could take back time and be together."
"We are now."
"I want you to get better and I want us to spend time together."
"I do too."
"Im going to write to you once I get back home."
"I'll write back."
"Did you come alone?"
"No my boyfriend Jusitn brought me."
"He must love you to travel this far."
"Yeah I guess he does."
"Dont' let him go. SOunds like a good kid."
"He is."
"I love you Emily. I always have."
"I love you too."
Emily walked out of the house with a smile on her face. She got into the car and justin was sleeping. She drove through a whole state by herself. The sun was seetin on the road ahead and it made her smile. She looked over at Justin who was peacefully sleeping. She gently touched his face and ran her fingers through his curls. he stirred slightly and turned to face her. She was driving into teh state of Virginia when she decided to stop. It was pouring outside. She leaned over and kissed his neck waking him up. They both ran into a hotel room dripping wet
"Justin." Emily breathed.
"yeah?"
"I never thanked you for coming with me."
"Emily you don't have to."
"Yes I do."
"I would have done it anway even if you never thanked me. You mean the world to me and I guess what I'm trying to say is that I love you." he said looking into her eyes.
"I love you too." She breathed onto his lips before kissing him.
