"Be careful." Justin whispered to her.
"I will." She said leaning up and kissing his lips one last time before she entered the car. Beside her car was Josh's parked right along side. Josh looked over the passenger's seat straight at Emily and nearly jumped.
"What the fuck is this about!" Josh yelled angrily
"She's racing you. Or are you too scared she might beat you." Justin smiled
"I'll beat her." Josh said looking over at Emily and winking.
"Don't worry his slant six doesn't compare to the badboy you have under your hood." Chris said to Emily with a smile.
"Make me proud." Joey smiled
"Don't get killed alright?" Lance said looking at her
"Alright Lance." She laughed
Chris walked up a few yards and then stood inbetween the two cars.
"Hey Emily!" Josh yelled from his car.
"What do you want?" She said
"Tell me how it feels to be rocked by a real man after this race is over and I leave you behind." He said
"Why don't you tell me how it feels to get your ass kicked by a girl!" She yelled as Chris waved his arms downward. She hit the gass pedal and took off. Both cars flying down the pavement buring the asphault. Chris' shirt flew up as they passed him by. Justin got in his car and took off after them. He'd make sure she'd make it through alright.
"Emily! Take this!" Josh said cruving his car toward hers. She swerved away and to the side. The one side of the car halway off the pavement.
"Back off!" She screamed swerving her car back at his barely skimming his car's side.
"Bitch." he said pushing a button in his car. The boosters made him fly twenty feet ahead of her at a fast pace.
She hit the button on hers. She was pulling up to him.
"Hey Josh! Too fast!" she yelled as she hit the next button and flew past him. The smoke trailing behind her car left him blinded and he slowed down. Justin passed him by laughing.
"Ah fuck." She said cursing for the first time. Engine coolers weren't working right. She was hitting the breaks but at her speed it wasn't doing anything.
"here goes nothing." She said pulling the emergency brakes and then letting it go. The car spun around making a half moon. Dust flew up around her making her choke. She had come to a complete stop. Justin skidded to a stop in front of the rising smoke.
"Emily!" he said jumping out of the car. She could have flipped. Or worse the car could have burst into flames. Then the dust began to settle and he could see the car facing him. He smiled and ran over to her. She was unstrapping the belt and getting out. He grabbed her and lifted her off her feet spinning her around.
"God you scared me." He said
"Sorry. How'd I do?" She laughed
"Beat the hell out of him." He laughed
"Good." She said kissing his lips.
By this time everyone was pulling up in their cars.
"Holy shit! Did she just kick his ass!" Joey cried running over.
"Pretty much." She smiled bashfully.
"Dude this girl rocks." Chris said walking over.
"Where is Josh the loser anyway?" Chris asked
Pulling up in his black car was Josh. He got out with his head bowed down.
"Nice race Josh." Emily smiled
"Whatever you cheated." He shot at her.
"What? How?" She asked
"You had two boosters. The rules are one booster." Josh said
"Damn." Chris said gritting his teeth.
"He's right only one." Joey added
"So you lose." Josh smiled
"Actually not really. You see I have one booster and a coolant system. I hit the booster to catch up and then cooled it off as I reached you and set it off again. In reality that's only one booster." She smiled
"Oh shit!" Chris hooted
"If you want I can show you the system." She said walking back over to the car.
"Forget it." Josh grumbld walking back to his car.
"You showed him who's who!" Chris laughed
"Well now let's all get back to the party!" Chris said waving his beer in the air. Everyone shouted out and got back in their cars. emily and Justin were the last to leave. She drove aside his car.
"Hey Emily." Justin yelled over to her
"Yeah!" She yelled back
"Where have you been all my life." He smiled
"I dunno." She laughed
They pulled up to the countryclub and parked.Justin walked over and laced his fingers with hers.
"What would I do without you?" He smiled
"Probably race Josh and die." She laughed
"yeah." Justin laughed
When they got inside the crowd shouted at them and hooted for Emily.
"Stupid slut." Josh grumbled sitting in his chair drinking a beer.
"Don't take it so hard. She had an awesome car." Carter said
"Oh shut the fuck up!" Josh yelled getting up and walking outside onto the back patio.
"Hey." Viki said slyly walking up behind him.
"Hey Vik." He said spitting over the side of the patio.
"upset you lost?" She said pouting.
"No no big deal. She's a stupid slut anyway." Josh said drinking again.
"So you don't like her?" Viki asked
"Nope."
"I thought you had a thing for her?"
"Did, but now she's with golden boy."
"We could change that." Viki smiled
"What are you aiming at?" Josh asked
"I'm saying you and me team up and tear up the perfect love birds." She smiled viciously as she grabbed his beer and drank it.
"I say you've got yourself a partner." Josh smiled
