| Justin grabbed his own tray of food for lunch. He had managed to dodge his mother's attempts at feeding him again. He danced over to his table happily "Someon's awful cheerful." Chris smiled sitting next to Justin who was humming to himself. Joey danced over holding a radio in his hand blasting music. The guys broke out into hoots and banging the table "Oh come on Mrs. Winters! How bout we dance just one song!" Joey yelled after her. He collapsed onto the bench smiling. Justin looked up and spotted Josh walking past their table. He was searching the cafeteria for someone. Then he walked over to Emily's table and today she was sitting alone. She pushed away uncomfortable and Justin got up out of his seat and started to walk over. "What's wrong?" Josh asked with a smile "Nothing I just remembered I forgot a book in my locker." She said reaching for her bag. Josh put his hand over the bag stopping her. "Go when the bell rings." He insisted "I'll be late to class then." She said getting scared "Tell them it was my fault." Josh smiled "No that's okay. I'll just go now." She said standing up and reaching again for the bag. Justin had finally reached them. Josh was holding her bag. "COuld I please have my bag." She said looking at him strangely "You heard her." Justin said from behind her. "Oh Justin come to join us/" Josh smiled as he held her bag tightly "No to escort her to her locker. Now would you mind releasing her bag?" Justin said with a sly smile "Actually I was thinking that she would sit back down and you could walk back to your table and I would escotrt her to her locker after the bell ran." Josh smiled pulling Emily's chair out for her. "Please can I have my bag." She said wanting to cry. "yeah." Josh smiled handing her the bag. Emily turned on her heels and began to walk away rather quickly. "You're fucking up." Justin said looking at him with flaming blue eyes. he too turned and walked up behind Emily. They both walked out into the empty hallway. "Are you alright?" Justin asked from behind her. "Uh yeah sure." She said wiping away a fearful tear. "Emily?" Justin said touching her arm softly. She turned to him and looked him in the eyes. He had this soft look of protection in his saphire blue eyes. "He scared me." She whispered "I am so sorry Emily." Justin said feeling guilty he hadn't gotten there earlier "I didn't know what to do> he just sat down and started to talk he even tried to touch me. I knew I had to get away. He just really scared me." She said feeling more tears rising to her eyes. Justin immediately pulled her into a hug. She held back the tears she didn't want to seem like a scaredy cat that was overreacting to nothing. "It's okay Emily. Josh is a real jerk. Justin try to stay away from him as best you can." Justin said rubbing her back. "He's always there though." She whispered. Justin was beginning to burn again with anger. That was it! He was going to do soemthign about Josh. Justin had managed to get through practice without tearing Josh's throat out. Josh would flash him a triumphant smile. he knew he was getting to Justin. Justin was jogging over to Emily's house when he got his idea. He didn't know if she would go for it though. She had to it was the only way to protect her. "Hey." Emily smiled opening the door. "Hey can you still tutor?" He asked "yeah come in." She smiled as he walked past her and into the house. As they sat down and got ready Justin became edgy to tell her. "hey Emily?" He started "yeah?" She said looking at him. "I have this idea but I'm not sure if you'll go for it." he said "What is it?" She asked looking at him curiously "Well since Josh is bothering you there's this way to get him to leave you alone." "Yeah what is it?" She asked opening a book She glanced up at him and noticed how nervous he looked "What is it?" She asked "Well if we said that we were dating he'd back off for sure. I mean the guys would look after you and they'd make sure nothing happened."Justin said "Are you saying to tell people we're boyfriend and girlfriend?" She asked looking up at him. "Well yeah but you don't want to so forget it." he said reaching for the pen. "No that's actually a great idea." she smiled "Really?" He asked surprised "yeah I mean Josh will leave me alone right?" She asked almost happily "So do you want to do that?" Justin asked "If he leaves me alone I'll do anything." She said with an uneasy smile "Alright." Justin smiled "But we're only saying we are right? We really aren't are we?" She asked suddenly becoming confused "Oh no, not if you don't want to." He said "Well I don't know you that well." She said shrugging her shoulders. "I totally understand. I'll just tell my friends we're dating." Justin said "Alright." She said with a smile that almost knocked him into a daze. The started to shuffle through books. Justin began to pack his books up. Emily reached for one and his hand fell over hers. "Sorry." he said with a smile "It's okay." She smiled givinghim the book "Thank you Emily." he smiled "No, thank you. I hope this works." She said walking him to the door.She smiled at him as he stood at the door. Passing by was Jermaine, Joey and Lance in the car. "BEtter start now." Justin smiled leaning over and kissing her cheek gently "Bye Justin!" She laughed as he jumped down the stairs and yelled over tot he guys in the turck. "Don't make me run damnit!" he yelled sprinting after the back of the truck. |
