events took place 16 years after rage 2. during the period, the song dynasty prospered and the heir of sang grew up together with his sister and formed a wonderful friendship with the heir of ling and shared a beautiful relationship with the latter two sisters….. at the same time, evil powers thrives and demonic existence grew in numbers stirring blood feuds now and then while far and between, vengeful confrontations took place among fellow mortals who knew nothing about the truth….

THE STORY IN BRIEF

heaven above predicted disaster befallen the ruling dynasty and reigning aging emperor ren zhong and his upright premier wong, summoned heavenly messenger the cultivated and celestial fox fairy ximei (vivian leung) to investigate. upon investigation, ximei reported the evil power of the restless souls and wandering spirits are thriving and are ambitious to rule the kingdom of song before challenging heavenly forces and seizing divinely powers…. of course, heaven tolerate no such insolence and frowned in displease at the feuds and confrontations among fellow mortals caused by these rioting souls and chaotic spirits. since heaven would not be confronting these evil powers directly, a hero is summoned and ximei is to guide the chosen one, also to bestow the supreme celestial sword and the sacred divine sword, known as the invincible *yin-yang swords…..

* brief information on the yin-yang swords

according to chinese mythology, the yin-yang swords consists of the imperial word and qingfeng sword, bestowed by nether king to the fearsome looking zhongkui, who is conferred the title "the general ghost-catcher/ghost-buster" upon heaven wills. the imperial sword can kill a human and turning him/her into a ghost. the qingfeng sword can destroy evil ghost/spirit/soul and all demons reducing them to ashes. some sources also stated zhongkui not only tackling the ghost and demon alone with his yin-yang sword but also took care of all man/woman who practiced evil openly and ruthlessly.

INTRODUCTION OF THE NEW CHARACTERS

wong yunlong (nicky wu) - heir of sang and named after his late illegitimate but famous chivalrous adventurer-turned-merchant grandfather chen yunlong (steven ma). like his father the marquis wong chunboe, (aaron kwok) the young heir apparent is both handsome and charming being, upright and gallant youth….

wong yekaa (cecelia cheong) - daughter of sang and named after her mongolian grandmother wa'an yekaa, (carmen) who was lived in exile. like her mother, the commoner born marquise liang yiemun, the young and kind hearted lady of sang is both pretty and helpful. well trained but not as highly skilled as her brother….

wu chenming (jimmy lin) - heir of ling and named after both grandfathers, the late marquis wu weiming (ken tong) and the well known destroyer of evil leiming (miu kiuwai). the young heir apparent is good looking and a playful lad. while his close and childhood friend yunlong trained under his father the marquis of sang, chenming trained under his maternal grandfather leiming…..

wu chengcheng (annie man) - first and elegant daughter of ling and named after her refined maternal grandmother zucheng (joyce). though somewhat quiet like zucheng, nevertheless she could be very playful too and mastered the art of throwing darts while way above her younger sister where martial skills are concerned….

wu chengyue (vicky zhoa) - second daughter of ling. lovely and talkative like her mother the marquise lei miusin (kristy) during the latter youth and never bother to learn any martial skills seriously except mastering the basic of light movements….

chiu chungling (erica choi) - beautiful daughter of retired skilled assassin swordsman chiu (sam lui)…. skilled but limited against stronger opponents and those above her in martial arts….

"flower maiden" (athena chu) - a ravishing and mysterious maiden who always leave a rare stalk of flower behind after each encounter, after each meeting. no one knew her real name, her background or whether she is skilled or not….

jiang qinfung (gilbert lam) - son of supreme pugilist swordsman jiang (leung kar fai). though somewhat proud and arrogant like his famous father, nevertheless the skilled descendant is both upright and honourable….

crown prince chungweng (vincent jiao) - heir apparent of song and 9th son of emperor ren zhong with empress pang. though bright and intelligent, nevertheless the prince lacked confidence where his future rule and reign is concerned….

prince chunghong (louis koo) - 10th prince of song and adventurous son of emperor ren zhong with concubine yang. always ventured outside the palace wall and often send the palace guards/eunuchs/maids frantic when he did not return on time….

princess hanlei (charlie yeung) - 11th princess of song and favourite daughter of emperor ren zhong with concubine shi….

princess meilei (kenix kwok) - 12th princess of song and graceful daughter of emperor ren zhong with concubine ying….

prince ye'luk (takashi kaneshiro) - prince regent from the neighboring shi and foreign diplomat between the shi and the song….

marquis wong chunboe (arron kwok) - capable and well-respected lord of sang. together with his marquise liang yiemun (natalie wong) and their two children, the sang rule kindly and generously. in the 16 years period, sang prospers….

marquis wu chantian (julian cheung) - lord of ling and together with his marquise lei miusin (kristy yang) and their playful brood, the ling rule fairly and peacefully. in the 16 years period, ling booms…..

wa'an yekaa (carmen lee) - lady dowager of sang who live in exile at her homeland mongolia….

leiming (miu kiuwai) - well known as destroyer of evil during his youth, teacher of wong chunboe (aaron) and has retired from the pugilist circle. together with his refined wife zucheng, (joyce) the couple retreated to seclusion at the quiet and peaceful mount ti….

liang shahai (terry fan) - father of yiemun (natalie) and grandfather of yunlong and yekaa. despite the family's pleading, he refused to stay at the mansion and continued to lead a common and simple life in the village….

chen yinyie (michelle lee) - lady merchant of ting and half sister of chunboe, widowed at a young age….

yang zetian (benny chan) - loyal caretaker of ting and has never married….

swordsman chiu tinshan (sam lui) - no longer roams about and brought up his daughter chungling (charlie) alone….

swordsman jiang xhiqi (leung kar fai) - though no longer active in martial arts meets or taking up challenges, nevertheless still remained famous in the pugilistic circle….

lord yuezhe of xing (jacky lui) now the supreme magistrate of the imperial court while his daughter yuexiang (christy chung), cousin sister of yinyie (michelle lee) has married and settled in the capital song. the others are the reigning emperor renzhong and his preimier wong, reclusive rev. shangyi, mythical figure zhao mookjie, one eyed pak qinfeng, retired and mysterious pugilist xu (felix wong) of xing, jade brothers (six of them) of the jade mountains, young and old pugilists alike, the nobles and the titled, officers and subjects, families and commoners, servants and attendants as mentioned in rage 1 and 2….

ximei (vivian leung) - a celestial fox fairy, highly cultivated and achieved divinity. no longer remembered her past and served as the heavenly messenger…

wuniang (sharon teng) - a celestial vixen spirit, highly cultivated and achieved divinity. like her counterpart ximei, she no longer remembered her past and served as one of the heavenly guardians….

ghostly gnome* - a destructive and tempestuous spirit….

heavenly demon* - the most powerful of all ghost/demon and strongest among all soul/spirit, love to taste and feel blood….

shadow wolf* - a sly and lustful soul, prying on young ladies and young girls alike….

zombie monk* - savage and notorious figure, ambitious….

forest goblin* - a forest spirit of untamed nature, like to create feud and wreak havoc….

river pixie* - an alluring and tempting female river spirit, often drown lives ruthlessly…..

siren deity* - the most scheming and impish of all females spirit, secretly vie for absolute power….

black widow* - a sinful and perverse female soul, often kidnapped men and then killed them…..

* the name (character and actor/actress) might be added in later or not at all.

THE SETTING

the busy capital song, the prosperous sang, the booming ling, the richly xing, the peaceful ting, the prominent yang, *pang, *ying and the *neighboring shi…. events took place from busy towns to faraway woods, cooling rivers and secluded streams, windy valleys and lonely mountains, distance borders and remote plains, barren land and peaceful camp. brief scenes on heavenly kingdom and the dark underworld…

AUTHOR'S NOTE

the character jade emperor, nether king, houyi, zhang liquan, he xiangu, nuwa, buffalo-headed and horse-faced are taken from the book of gods/goddesses and chinese mythology while the character emperor ren zhong, (aka yan chung) premier wong (aka wang anshi), empress pang (aka pang ling) are from the book of chinese classical and historical figures during the song era (northern song 960-1127 and southern song 1127-1279)

aside from the above-mentioned characters, the rest of the characters and story events are purely fictional and of totally imaginative fantasy, not related to history or ever existed. should there be similarities or familiarities, are truly regretted.

rage 3 is a combination of the saga and the script but neither "copycat" plot nor "borrowed" story. its tale of adventure and raging chapter stood "apart" from rage 1 and 2 as well.

another thing is, i know the some of the names are mixed in chinese pingyin and chinese cantonese or chinese mandarin (whatever), thus i am sorry and please be tolerant on the matter.
