Although my bass playing today covers all styles of roots music, I started out playing guitar as a child in the 50's; even as a kid I thought music would be in my life forever...I was lucky to have a brother 3 years older than me who was hitting his stride in the 50's, I was exposed to a lot of the 50's teen things that much earlier...This is going to be my retro site...I love the 50's and early 60's: men were men, women were women and you could tell the difference...I still am in love with Justine from the Bandstand show, I had a date with her every day after school on the TV...I would always watch "The Nelson Family" at the end of the show Ricky Nelson would come out and sing a song ...I'm still digging Rockabilly, Blues and Rock and Roll...Bill Black slapping that big ol' bass for Elvis!!!...Link Wray wailin' out Rumble...Chuck Berry, Little Richard, Carl Perkins, Big Joe Turner...I have some photos of the Sun Studio in Memphis -the place hasn't change from it's heydays in the 50's...I'm going to add some of my 50's images, and photos of the oldies shows I've played... this site is another work in progress...WHOA!!! DID I FORGET TO SAY I'M A KOOL BASS PLAYER LOOKING FOR A GIG?
