The best time of year for visiting the Yakima River Canyon is spring. Foliage is greenest and the temperatures are fairly mild. Each season provides its own special moments of awe and wonder.

All these images were taken in the Yakima River Canyon, on Canyon Road between the north entrance near the city of Ellensburg and the south entrance near the city of Yakima.

Two of the photos above reveal the canyon's infrared signature (Mile Posts 13 & 14). Color infrared film captures light beyond the visible range that people can see, and presents it in color ranges dependent upon the filters in use.
