Wireless networks have been around for quite some time now and have actually made activities simpler. A wireless network consists of several peripherals that are linked, or joined, by radio waves. These adapters are basically the ?antenna? for sending and receiving data. An example of a wireless network can be an infrastructure network. This consists of a main station that is connected to the internet, then computers and other devices connect to the station.
Wireless networks have several uses. Cell phones, computers, PDA?s, and even portable gaming units utilize this technology in there own special way. Computers have been easier to deal with, and can make setting up a network at home a snap. Cell phones are the most common form of wireless network, being that everybody either owns one or has used one in their lifetime. Portable gaming units use it for multiplayer games, and have made it possible for several to join a game without all the extra items needed. These are some examples of wireless networks that intrigued me and helped me with my decision for this topic.
