One week ago 2000 presidential
candidate Al Gore announced on the national TV program 60 Minutes that he
would NOT be a candidate for president in 2004, despite the fact that he
was clearly the frontrunner among democrats, had already defeated Bush by
500,000 votes, and would more than likely defeat Bush again in light of the
fact that the economy is continuing a downhill slide under the current regime.
Millions were astonished to say the least and the obvious question is why.
Why would someone who is so obviously the most viable choice for the democrats
drop out when conditions looked so promising and auspicious. It was
not difficult to discern that he definitely wanted the job and was withdrawing
under surreptitious protest. The reasons he gave were so muddled and
vague that they bordered on the incoherent. One can only conclude that
some group, organization, or individual had pulled the plug because he was
deemed not to their liking, even though the majority of American voters feel
otherwise. Now who could this be? Well for anyone attune to the
workings of the capitalist system that is not hard to fathom. The fat
cat backers of the democrat party told the party leadership that they would
not contribute the millions that are necessary to win if Gore was the candidate.
Why? One need only listen to many of Gore’s speeches and read his books
to see why. His speeches often had class struggle overtones and terminology
pitting rich against poor, that weren’t much to talk about by any means,
but were definitely more than American ruling class millionaires and billiionaires
could stomach. That, alone, was sufficient as far as they were concerned
to give him his pink slip and when that is combined with the views he expressed
in his writings with regard to the environment and other social issues that
only further persuaded the property owners that they had made the right decision
as far as their interests were concerned.
This entire situation only
further exposes the degree to which the capitalist system is nothing more
than a dictatorship of, by, and for the property owners and must be abolished.
As I have said and written many times and on several call in radio programs:
How could you possibly have a government that is anything other than a joke,
a laugh, a farce, and a fraud when one person has a buck to his name and
another has a billion. Their political influence, control, and domination
are not even remotely comparable and light years apart. The latter
will have the former for lunch and it won’t be as a guest. Only when
the wealth of individuals is relatively equal can democracy become a reality
and that is only possible through socialism. All other paths are doomed
from the outset and nothing more than the hopes, dreams, and wishes of the
benighted and deceived.
And to add to this socio/politico/economic
tragedy one need only watch and read the ruling class owned media to see
that growing numbers have increasingly exhibited an arrogant and revealing
attitude in recent decades of saying either overtly or covertly: Yes,
we are running the show. What are you going to about it.
