1999 BUELL CYCLONE
Picked up this bike in Traverse City, MI in April of 1999. That was WAY too cold to be driving a bike home 2+ hours in a Michigan April! Anyway, I wanted an American (read that union made) bike, but didn't want the high cost of a Harley. Harleys are nice- nice and slow.

The
Buell Motorcycle Company is 99% owned by Harley, uses their engine, and is sold by their dealers. What more could you ask for. I love the bike and plan on keeping it for a long time. I liked it so much, I bought a entire different body for it and had it painted custom. See below for that.

The current dealer (due to a piss poor service dept in TC, MI) is now Perry's HD in Kalamazoo, MI. They set me right with any warranty or recall work. The guys down there know what they are doing.

As with every Harley product, you modify it. I have a Vance & Hines pipe with new carb jetting. I am running 45 slow jet, 200 main, and <2.5 turns on the screw (for you gear heads) with MUCH improved response and great sound. I only took one long trip with the V&H pipe, but really didn't bother me too much.

Since the first year, I have added a Throttlemeister cruise control, Chase Harper saddle bags, Buell tank bag, and a Buell cover (thanks mom). Custom paint job is sort of shown below. Better pics this summer!!!

The only mod I want to do now is a FORCE air cleaner. Getting rid of that bread box now that I don't use it for long trips is going to be 1st on the list this summer. Pics to follow.
Basic, down to earth bike. Nothing better. I like the naked bike look that is popular in europe right now. Buell, Aprillia,  and Ducati have the best looking naked bikes.

I bought the Buell because I can't afford the others (both in cost and getting to a dealer)
Color shifting custom paint by BASF. Great looking and will be updated with better pics when the weather gets warmer.

keep looking!
