NEWS UPDATES

8/16/01 -- An exploratory trip to UseNet yielded some excellent tips! First, a review from the great DVD File, which also has an amazingly cool Behind the Disc feature, including an interview with the disc's producer, Laurent Bouzereau! This very cool page has short clips of the behind-the-scenes documentaries that will be on the disc! I highly reccommend it!!! Thanks to 'Childof80s' and Cult Cuts!

7/01/01 -- Jeannette Walls reports the following:

"Sissy Spacek went the distance to get the role in “Carrie.” For the 20th anniversary of the film, “Premiere” magazine talked to the cast and crew for the horror film for an upcoming issue. “I got offered a commercial for the same day as the screen test,” Spacek told the mag for the August issue. “I called Brian [DePalma, the director] and said, ‘What should I do?’ figuring he’d say, ‘Don’t do the commercial.’ And he said just the opposite. It infuriated me, and I thought, ‘Screw him, I’m going to get this part.’ Suddenly I felt like the underdog, which was very Carrie-esque. The day of the test, I pulled out an old dress my mother had made for me in seventh grade. I didn’t wash my face or brush my teeth, and I put Vaseline in my hair. When I went in, the hair and makeup people came running over to try to make me up, but I shoved them away and went into a corner. I had been so wounded by Brian, and I just used that.”

5/20/01 -- I saw this on alt.video.dvd:

"Deen" posted: "Hey, Sissy Spacek was on Rosie O' Donnell today to promote a film and they ended up talking about "Carrie". Sissy said she hadn't seen the film in years but had just watched a new documentary that was done for the upcoming DVD release. She said everyone was interviewed including her. It's not major news but at least it's something to look forward to. Just wanted to share...."

I feel like I'm getting so much information about the Hannibal and Silence of the Lambs DVDs but not nearly enough about Carrie. If anyone has any images/scoops/news about this DVD, you know who to write!.
