08/01/01 -- OK,somehow the great new webmaster on the scene, Mr. Buckles, got his hands on images from a scene that was cut from Carrie. Check out the Carrie link on his page, the awesome DIE SEXY!
Also in the news, my new favorite site for Stephen King news (actually, there are quite a few good ones popping up), Creature Corner has picked up the story that TNT, Mark Wolper and scripter Peter "The Craft" Filardi are masterminding a new Salem's Lot miniseries for TV> OK, for the record, I totally dig Tobe Hooper's 80s version, but I'm always happy to see new SK projects, so I'll be tuning in and probably taping to boot. Read that article HERE. Also, the intrepid Ryan Rotten reviewed the new SK audiobook, which I will probably be ordering soon, LT's Theory of Pets. I bought the last spoken word novella anthology and was very happy to have it. How many phenomenally successful authors read their own books on tape?
And lastly, some of you probably clicked on the Desperation page expecting to get info on Desperation but instead got a Hearts in Atlantis rehash. Well, my last attempt to start that page didn't save, so I have attempted it again and you can read the glorious results here. Thanks for your patience!
07/27/01 -- First, Stephen King has signed on to adapt another property not his own. This time it's Patrick McGrath's novel, The Asylum, which he will be adapting for Paramount Pictures. According to Variety, the film tells the story of an English insane asylum, where the superintendent`s wife falls in love with one of the patients, a murderer. Liam Neeson and Natasha Richardson will follow as leads if Jonathan Demme signs on as director. Wow. First, it was Lars Von Trier's The Kingdom (read Creature Corner's report on that story here, now this. Interesting. I have to say, I think it rules that he's doing this. Why not inject some much needed Stephen Kingism into it.
Also in the news, Mick Garris, longtime SK collaborator, had a panel at Comic Con. It was really interesting to hear him and his wife talk about working with SK. He also showed clips from the Shining and Stand miniseries and from Sleepwalkers. His next SK projects are Desperation, Riding the Bullet and The Talisman. They had a streaming interview with him on 13th Street, but since their programming is so back-asswards, I can only link to Part Two. Anyway, check it out.
And last but definitely not least, I found the Hearts in Atlantis trailer online and you can see it by clicking over to my Hearts in Atlantis page. Anthony Hopkins RULES!!!!
07/01/01 -- New info on the Carrie DVD page. Plus, Lilja's Library is keeping much better track of SK news. From A Buick Eight is now listen on StephenKing.com, Firestarter the series has gotten new castmembers and more. Check out her news section here!
05/22/01 -- I know, long time no update. I took a short vacation after the Hannibal blitz. I just launched a new Carrie DVD page which you should waste no time checking out. The DVD comes out 8/28/01, which gives this DVDphile something to look forward to!!!
Did anyone watch the Stephen King documentary that aired on The Learning Channel? I stumbled on it while channel surfing. It looks like it was made around the Green Mile time but it was really, really good. An extensive interview with SK in which he talked about even some intimate stuff, like not having a father, invasions of his privacy, etc. Very interesting stuff.
Around the net, there's also been lots of news. Read about A Return to Salem's Lot, Dreamcatcher and Mick Garris' Desperation, Riding the Bullet and The Talisman projects all at Creature Corner!! We like those guys!
Also in the news, upstart Horror 'zine 13th Street had an article today about up n' coming SK projects that is packed w/info about Desperation, Salem's Lot, Rose Red, Dolan's Cadillac, Hearts in Atlantis, etc. Read it by clicking HERE!
Also in the news, SK gave $20,000 to a Poughkeepsie charity when he gave the commencement speech at Vassar. Read about it at the amazing Lilja's Library site, a site we love and visit often!
DIE SEXY: A cool dePalma site.
Temple of Nancy: the webmaster of this site wants to stress that it's a work-in-progress but she promises cool things to come.
