Hi,thanks for visiting my page. I am currently staying at a place called Anand in the state Gujarat of India. The word 'Anand' literally means happiness. Anand is the milk capital of India. The White Revolution, for achieving self sufficiency in the production of milk was planned and carried out from this place by Dr. Verghese Kurien and his team at the NDDB. I work for a farmer's co-operative organisation called GCMMF. We market the milk products like Ghee, Butter, Ice cream which are produced by the different milk unions in Gujarat. My organisation (GCMMF) is the apex body of these milk unions and is called The Federation. We market products under the brand name Amul, Sagar and Dhara.
Our Head office is situated at Anand, and we have fifty regional offices across India. Our zonal offices are situated at the major metros in India.
I am working in the Information Systems Division at the Head Office of GCMMF in Anand. My responsibilities here include looking after the national IT infrastructure and all matters related to the Web. We were one of the first organisations in India to harness the power of web for reaching out to the consumers directly. Our ecommerce initiatives like the Amul Cyberstore and AmulB2b are doing exceedingly well. Now I am looking after maintenance of these websites. Click here to see my Resume

I have completed my PGDRM from Institute of Rural Management, Anand (IRMA) in the month of April, 2001. Although we don't have any specialisation as such, the optionals that I chose had a leaning towards Finance and Systems. I had equal opportunities of working in the sector and off the sector. I chose to work for AMUL as in this case I will be getting to work for a co-operative that works like a corporate.

I have done my graduation in Electrical Engineering from Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Sarang. I graduated in the year 1998 with a First division. Then for one year I worked in a computer hardware maintenance firm and I had a part time job in a computer training institute where I used to teach C, Unix, and VC. My schooling is from St. Vincent's Convent School, Berhampur.

By nature I am a very restless person. I suffer from short attention span. I always try not to get angry. I love creative people. I pass my time by listening to music and reading novels. I don't have any rigid likes and dislikes regarding these two things. But I prefer listening to hindi music and fiction like Jeffrey Archer and Robert Ludlum.

I like to assemble high-end music systems. And in the winter I like to fly kites. I play badminton and lawn tennis. At times I like to go on long drives. My current toy is my bike, an Enfield Bullet which has been presented to me by my parents. I spend my time dolling my bike. I am 178 cms tall and I weigh 96 kilos. I am wheatish complexioned. The colour of my eyes is black. I sport short hair. (crew cut) My favourite colour is Green.

Both my parents are in the profession of teaching. They are professors in Government Colleges in Rourkela. I have two younger sisters. They are in second year graduation and final year graduation respectively. They stay in Rourkela. Our's is modern but God fearing family. Although my parents are moderately religious, they never forced anything on their children. We have the decision open to us. My parents believe on teaching their children to grow up to be good human beings rather than as members of some particular faith.

In the last week of December '99 I had been to an interior part of Orissa on my field work. Had a good time there and learnt a lot of new things from my field work.Click below to see a short report on the fieldwork.

For my Management Traineeship Segment I was hosted by the Banaskantha District Milk Producer's Co-operative Union. My project was the "Study of feasibility of an e-Governance information network in the district". My partner was my class mate Nitin Puri. The duration was from the 16th of August, 2001 to the 14th of October, 2001. It was a great learning experience. We visited a lot of Government departments and collected information regarding the current state of readiness and we also visited 5 villages of diverse nature to gauge the people's opinion regarding e-Governance. One more objective of visiting people and collecting information first hand was to find out whether people will be willing to pay for Information. Or what kind of information would the people be willing to pay for. In the end we gave an action plan so as how to go about setting up the network if it is set up.
