Tetsusaiga, the Phantom Sword | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||

|||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
We start off with Myouga telling us about Inuyasha and Sesshoumaru, and going over everything that happened in the last episode. We then see the villagers searching for Kagome, only to come across her bike. Knowing it's hers, they begin to fear for her safety. Then we see Kagome's mother in their time fixing her own bike so that Kagome can use it when she comes back. Souta comes out and talks to her, being the sweet little boy he is. Back to the "spirit world", where Kagome is still paralyzed, and Inuyasha still thinks the woman is his mother. She tells him she has to return now, and when he asked is she had to, she had him look into the water. He sees himself as a boy, chasin after a ball, then leaving it to run to his mother, who held him. Then we see them sitting on a pier, her holding him with his back to her chest. She hugs him like that, then turns him around to hug him. Only when she does, she sinks her hands into his back. He still thinks it's his mom, but you can tell it kind of hurt. He kind of zones out for a while. Kagome finally figures out why she can't move as the illusion fades away, revealing a dark, murky swamp, where she's being chained down by lil demons who look like Jaken. (they're from the underworld.) Myouga shows up, trying to get Kagome to snap out of it, but she's still paralyzed. He's thinking about it, and how poor Kagome is so wrapped up, she couldn't even swat a flea. With that thought, and with the promise of blood, he leaps onto her cheek and helps himself. This actually causes Kagome to snap out of it, and she slaps Myouga, thanking him sarcastically. Jaken arrives, only to see a messed-up sight. The woman who was pretending to be Inuyasha's mother no longer holds the illusion. her kimono has slid off of her shoulders, and he's absorbing Inuyasha into her body. She calls him her "precious boy", but continues to suck him in. Jaken runs over to her and hits her in the face with his staff, telling her no soul sucking until Inuyasha tells them how to find his father's grave. Myouga and Kagome are hiding behind a rock, and he's telling her about Jaken and the staff, warning her to be careful. Inuyasha, meanwhile, slips deeper into the woman, though he's in a trance. To him, it's like he's being held underwater, and she's asking him where his father's grave is. He says he doesn't know, but she tells him to think harder. She looks into his heart, and he says merely, "black pearl... on the right..." Jaken tells her to go deeper, and find out what he minds. She worries that she might destroy his spirit. Jaken says he doesn't care, and so the woman tries to soothe Inuyasha. He complains that he can't breathe, and finally opens his eyes in the water, and looks up to the woman who is holding him. He sees what Kagome saw. No face. Her arms stretch and wrap around him, her hands on his throat to choke him. Jaken begins to complain about how long it's taking, but Kagome has snuck up behind him, and steals the staff of Heads from him. She then steps on his head, and uses him as a golf ball. She looks over to the woman, asking her to let him go. She refuses and backs up quickly, sucking Inuyasha in even faster. Kagome grabs his hair and manages to pull him out most of the way, but she falls and loses her grip on him. Myouga jumps on her shoulder, telling her to awaken his spirit. He then tells Kagome that the woman is the Unmother, born from the pain and despair of women who had lost their children to famine and war, looking to fill the void inside her with others' spirits. We see the Unmother again, and she has almost completely absorbed Inuyasha, except for an arm and maybe a leg. Kagome realizes she has no time, and looks over at the lake, only to see a reflection of the Unmother, holding a 4 or 5 year old Inuyasha. She asks Myouga if that's Inuyasha, and when he says it's an illusion, but yes, she runs to the water, using the staff to destroy the picture. The woman screams, and Inuyasha emerges, falling onto the ground. Kagome tuns over to him, asking if he's okay, but he begins to yell at the Unmother for tricking him. Kagome interrupts him, saying it was Jaken and Sesshoumaru who did it. Sure enough, guess who shows up? Sesshoumaru. He tells Inuyasha that he "knows where it is now." Before Inuyasha could even finish saying Sesshoumaru's name, the demon has Inuyasha by the throat, holding him up in the air. "Of all the places for him to hide it. All this time, beneath our very own noses. Or to be technical, ABOVE our very own noses. Right above, one might say. Father was determined to keep it a secret. Which is why he chose HERE to hide it... " Inuyasha asks what he's talking about, and Sesshoumaru says that since it seemed to have been done without his knowledge, he's willing to let Inuyasha come with him. Then, he uses some weird magic to focus on Inuyasha's right eye, drawing out a small, black pearl. It's pretty painful for Inuyasha. His left eye now seems weird, and looks like it's missing the pupil. He yells about the unmother being used to get the tomb, which Sesshoumaru seemed to have found amusing. Inuyasha, of course, didn't. He attacks Sesshoumaru, who leaps into the air and retaliates with his youki whip, which Inuyasha manages to dodge a couple of times, but finally gets hit in the chest by it. Sesshoumaru goes to hit Inuyasha with it again while he's down, but the Unmother jumps in front of Inuyasha, blocking it for him and dying herself in the process. Myouga explains that even though she was demon, she still had a mother's heart, and all mothers naturally protect their children. Kagome yells at Sesshoumaru, getting his attention, but he only glances at her before calling for Jaken. Jaken runs over to him holding out his reclaimed staff to him. Sesshoumaru takes the staff and drops the pearl to the ground, only to place the tip of the staff onto it. The old man begins to laugh, which means that the tomb will open, according to Jaken. A black hole opens next to them, and Sesshoumaru and Jaken walk into it, while Kagome and Inuyasha stare. Myouga tells Inuyasha to go too, before Sesshoumaru gets his father's treasure. Inuyasha says he doesn't care, but declares he's going to still go, and get revenge. He turns to Kagome to tell her to stay there, saying it's too dangerous. But Kagome's not there. He looks over to the portal, only to see her standing there, one leg in already, looking over her shoulder at him, telling him to hurry up. She steps inside, and is flying towards the grave, only to have Inuyasha come up to her, telling her that Sesshoumaru is there. She says she knows, and doesn't care. She wants revenge, too. They appear in a vast land, only to be caught on the back of a skeleton bird, which flys over to a HUGE (I mean, HUGE) skeleton. As in, Inuyasha is about the size of one of the SMALLEST teeth... Then he freaks out Kagome, by calling him, "Father." "Those bones there are your dad?" "What else would they be?" Myouga confirms that it IS Inuyasha's father, and that the treasure sword is embedded in his bones. And that THAT is what Sesshoumaru is after. Sure enough, in a room littered with bones, Sesshoumaru stands before a small, circular platform, where a rusty, nicked, dull sword is sticking out of. "Here is what I have sought. At last I shall take possession of the sacred sword. The lethal, legendary blade known to kill 100 in one stroke. Tetsusaiga." Jaken says that it was forged from a fang from the father's own mouth, and that whoever weilds it gains his power. (sound familiar? "It is the Fang I seek here...") Sesshoumaru wraps his hand around the hilt, only to have electricity flare up, a magical barrier to keep him from touching it. Inuyasha calls out to Sesshoumaru, then attacks him from above, only to miss as the speedy brother moves away. He tells Inuyasha to be more respectful, as it is their father's grave, and Inuyasha responds with, "Look who's talking. You're the one robbing his grave!" Myouga tells Inuyasha to look back, and when he glances behind him to see what has the flea so excited, Myouga tells him about Tetsusaiga, the sword forged from his father's fang. He's doubtful, and walks over to look at it. "What, you mean this? What a piece of junk. Tetsu-saiga-wha? It wouldn't even cut paper. WET!" Myouga begs Inuyasha to draw out the sword, telling more than asking Sesshoumaru that he couldn't, could he? He tells them that it was meant for Inuyasha to inherit. Why else would he be entrusted with the tomb? Inuyasha doesn't care, and refuses to draw it out. He attacks Sesshoumaru, who uses his speed to dodge each and every attack. Myouga pleads again for Inuyasha to get the sword, and he refuses. Finally, Kagome's had enough. She yells for Inuyasha to "get the dumb sword!" She points out that since Sesshoumaru couldn't draw it out, it would be a blow to his ego, his pride, if Inuyasha could. Finally, Inuyasha agrees, just to annoy Sesshoumaru. He reaches out and grabs Tetsusaiga, and when he's not shocked by the spell, tries to pull it out. But he can't. It's stuck. He's not strong enough to draw out the sword. He gets angry at Myouga, but ends up being attacked by Sesshoumaru, who finally reveals his other attack. Poisonous claws. While they fight, Jaken cheers him on, intending to help him out. But Kagome has other plans. She jumps down onto his head, and he ends up attacking her with the staff of heads. She catches it, and they begin to fight, both gripping the staff. Finally, Jaken sends Kagome flying backwards, over to where the Tetsusaiga still rests. She reaches out and grabs the hilt, but no one notices, not even her. She uses it to lift herself up, intending to fight Jaken again. Sesshoumaru attacks Inuyasha, about to use his poisonous claws to kill him. Inuyasha's pinned, and Sesshoumaru moves in for the final blow... Kagome runs forward, yelling for Inuyasha, only to the Tetsusaiga come free EASILY! "Oops." EVERYONE freezes, and turns to look at her, shocked beyong belief. "It just... came out... Sorry." |
