Yura of the Demon-Hair
We see a few scenes from the last episode, where Yura sent Kagome home, and Inuyasha "hid" Kaede.
Now Kagome's family are arguing over whether or not Kagome was lying about her whereabouts for the last few days. Granpa must believe her, because he seals the well, using his "special spirit wards".
Inuyasha, though, sniffs out Kagome's scent and follows it to the well, where her clothes lay. He decides to jump in the well after her.
Kagome's laying in bed, thinking about everything that's happened, and almost feels guilty until she remembers Inuyasha's arrogant, bad additude. She decides not to worry anymore, saying it was just a fairy tale.
She's called to dinner, where her brother and granpa are talking about the now-sealed well. He reassures Kagome that he'll defend her, only to be informed by Souta that she isn't listening. (She's not, she's chanting "real food") Just as she starts to eat, we see a pair of bare feet walking down the hall (more like stomping), and the door slides open to reveal... INUYASHA!
He calls her an idiot, saying, "Who told you you could go home?!" When he tells her he came through the well, the granpa calls him a liar, that he placed wards on the well.
Inuyasha holds up a seal, and says, "Hate to break it to you, old man, but, They don't work."
He tries to drag Kagome back, but she fights back, refusing to go. Her mother yells at Inuyasha to stay still, making them think she's going to yell at him. Instead, she begins to play with his ears, asking if they're real. Souta stands behind her, saying he's next.
Kagome then notices a strand of hair on Inuyasha's shoulder, but no one else can seem to see it. When it moves and cuts her hand, she puts 2 and 2 together, and races to the well, only to find mounds of hair pouring out of it.
Inuyasha comments that Kaede was right about Kagome being able to see the hair, and she yells that it's his fault, and the hair followed him.
Her family runs up to the well-house, and she tells them to stay out, closing the door, leaving them to bang on it, demanding to be let in.
She tries to decide what to do, but is attacked by the hair. She dodges it, and warns Inuyasha, who tries to cut it, to no avail. He can hear it, though, so he's okay at dodging it.
He finally gets caught in the hair, and cuts it off of him. Kagome watches in horror as the hair regrows, and searches for the main hair controlling everything.
When she finds it, she tries to point it out to Inuyasha, who can't see it, and misses it. She finally reaches up and grabs the strand, pulling it down and cutting her hand on it so he can follow the drops of blood on the strand.
After he cuts it, the rest of the hair fades away or goes back into the well. Kagome decides that Yura's after THEM, since she already had the jewel shard.
She declares she's going back, and Inuyasha mocks her, saying, "I thought you didn't wanna go back." "I don't. But I have to."
He's surprised at this, and places his kimono (the jacket part of his outfit) over her head, saying that it's made of fire-rat fur, which is stronger than most armors, and will therefore protect her.
She thanks him, and he says it's because she looks so weird that she needs it. "You're one to talk, dog-boy!" He brushes it off, and they jump into the well together, going back to a waiting Yura, who's playing with a red skull, saying that she won't let them get away.
(Kaede spends the WHOLE episode yelling at Inuyasha and Kagome from her "hiding place", telling them to work together. Pretty boring, so I'm not going there.)
Inuyasha and Kagome climb out of the well, and Kagome tells him that she knows Yura is after them since she already has Kagome's piece of the sacred jewel. "YOU'RE piece?! How'd that happen!?"
She points out the main strand of hair, saying that it should lead them back to Yura.
They follow it to a campsite of headless men, where Kagome picks up a bow and a quiver of arrows, though Inuyasha rants about her aim.
She tells him she can do it, and he actually admits to himself that maybe she could.
Hair begins to attack them as they race off, and Kagome tells him which way the hair's coming from so he can dodge it.
Unfortunately, though, he gets caught by some hair, and is lifted into the air while Kagome is thrown to the ground.
Kagome stares at the huge hairball in front of them, and says it must be Yura's hideout. Sure enough, here comes Yura now.
She taunts Inuyasha, calling him a doggy, and saying that she heard he was playing fetch for a reincarnated shrine maiden. Then she calls them both halfwits for shattering the jewel.
She informs them that she's going to kill them and find the rest of the pieces herself, at which point Inuyasha breaks loose and attacks her, only to have her dodge and throw more hair at him, tying him up yet again.
She comes up behind him, playing with his hair, and tells him that he hasn't cared for it very well. He knocks her back, and she falls down to a strand of hair which she uses as a trampoline, unsheathing her sword as she flies up, and slicing Inuyasha's chest as she goes by him.
She licks the blood off of the sword, and says she's going to cut him into little pieces, then attacks. But an arrow flies in front of her, blocking her off.
The two demons (or half-demon in Inuyasha's case) look over at Kagome, who already has another arrow drawn, threatening that if Yura doesn't release Inuyasha, then she won't miss next time.
Yura teases Inuyasha again, saying that he must be a "sweet widdle doggy" since she wants him back so badly. He responds by yelling at Kagome to hide.
Yura declares that she'll take Kagome's hair too, while she's at it, even though it's not as nice as Inuyasha's.
Kagome, enraged, yells that Yura doesn't know anything about hair, and lives in a time before shampoo. Unfortunately, her anger causes her to release the arrow she was holding, and almost hits Inuyasha!
He yells at her to watch where she's aiming, but her arrow hits Yura's hairball, creating a huge hole in it. Needless to say, Yura's upset.
She uses her comb to throw flaming strands of hair at Kagome, saying that she has to die. Kagome collapses on the ground, fire covering her.
Yura then decides to attack Inuyasha, who covers his claws with his own blood, using a special attack that Viz translated as "Blades of Blood".
Red blades fly towards a surprised Yura, and slices off her right hand which holds her katana (Sword).
The hair loosens, but she doesn't seem to be that upset. In fact, she uses the hair that surrounds her skulls to attack Inuyasha, sending the heads towards him.
He dodges them and the hand weilding the sword, which is also now being controlled by hair.
He throws another Blades of Blood attack at her, but she merely uses her hair as a curtain and shield, blocking it.
While he's focused on that, though, her hand with the sword goes for his back, shoving the blade through.
Inuyasha falls to the ground, finally, and Yura's hand comes back to her, and somehow reattaches itself! She says that he's a half-demon, and so therefore only has half the power.
She lands on the ground next to him, raising her sword to cut off his head, but he stands and shoves his hand through her chest, and out her back. Amazingly, though, she gets mad at him, and doesn't seem to be in any pain, which confuses Inuyasha.
He's trying to figure out her weak spot while she stands, smiling and holding up her comb. But then the hairs on the comb pull tight, and Yura turns to see... KAGOME!
She survived the fire, and is currently climbing up the hair to Yura's former home. Angry, Yura tries to knock her off, but Inuyasha uses Yura's own sword to cut her in half. But the hair flies by her twice, and she's back in one piece. But now she's ticked off.
Inuyasha laughs and asks what she's hiding, making Yura growl at him, but Kagome points at the red skull and tells him to concentrate on attacking THAT. "What red skull?" Again, he can't see it, apparently. But Yura isn't taking any chances.
She leaps after Kagome, her sword following her, and tells Kagome to stop pulling her hair. Inuyasha breaks free, intending to stop her, but is blocked off. Yura hits Kagome with the sword, intending to kill her, but...
Kagome falls, screaming, but with no blood on her. Yura, confused, catches Kagome in a trap a lot like Inuyasha's was, yelling, "What ARE you?! Why don't you BLEED?!"
Kagome's confused, too, but remembers Inuyasha's comment about the fire-rat fur, and how it'll protect her. Yura comments on Kagome's very apparent mortality, and decides to "test out" her theory. She places hairs around Kagome's neck, either to strangle her, or slice off her head, one, we're not sure, since Inuyasha attacks with "Blades of Blood" again, cutting the hair leading to her throat, and causing the whole hairball to fall down.
While he's holding Kagome, saying, "Don't you faint on me, you stupid girl!", Yura sends her sword at him again. Kagome tries to warn him, but is too late when it hits him in the shoulder.
He sees Yura standing on a pile of skulls, and she remind him she's immortal.
She sends the sword at him again, but freezes with the sword about a foot away from his face when she sees Kagome pounding into the top of the red skull with one of her arrows.
Kagome says that the control is coming from there, and continues to try and break through the skull, while Yura yells at her to stop.
She swings the sword at Kagome (still controlled by hairs, of course), only to have it stop about 6 inches away when she plunges her arrow into the skull, breaking through it and snapping the comb inside it in half.
Yura immediately fades away.
Inuyasha walks over to Kagome, telling her that Yura was really the comb, which probably got powers since it was once used to comb the hair of the dead.
He falls to his knees, holding his stab wound, and she feels guilty, telling him it's her fault for having his kimono. He brushes it off, asking where the jewel piece is.
She takes the pouch with the jewel piece from Yura's remains (her clothing. Her body disintegrated), and wonders aloud how long it'll take to find the rest of the jewel.
"Kagome, let's go. (soft gasp from Kagome) What?" "It's just... You never said my name before." "Yeah, what of it?" "I just think you like me more is all." "Feh. I still think you're pretty useless." "Remind me next time NOT to save you" (slaps him on the back, but not really hard. He falls over sideways) "If it hurt so bad, you should have said something!" "Leave me alone!!!"
Now we see Kaede again, still "hidden", reminding Inuyasha not to forget where he buried her. hehehe...
"IDIOT! Who told you you could go home?!"
