United Kingdom Spring Break 2004

Travelling to London, and onto the rest of the country with Starr and Emily. It was a great time. Here are some select photos.

The Routing was Air Canada, DFW-YYZ-LHR-YYZ-DFW

Emily and Starr at the Parking Lot. It was hella windy, but you cannot tell from the picture.

Me in Toronto. I'm not going to have any more of this Tom Foolery!

Starr and her many stolen pillows on the flight from Toronto to Heathrow.

Me in my coveted window seat. I didn't sit there the whole time as there was an empty row in the middle where I could lay down and sleep.

An Air Canada 767-300 like the one we flew, though I think this one was coming from St. Johns, Newfoundland to Heathrow.

Emily and Starr outside the arrivals area.

Big Ben, the clock tower, and the Houses of Parliament.

The River Thames. On the left is Charing Cross station.

The Texas Embassy. It's really a bar, but it's kinda neat to see the Texas flag in the UK.

Tower Bridge and the HMS Belfast.

Starr and Emily on the double-decker bus.

Austin and Starr on the double decker bus.

The three of us at the Tower of London with Tower Bridge in the background.

Big Ben and the flags of the British Commonwealth.

The Cenotaph, a World War I monument. If you know the Manic Street Preachers' song "La Tristesse Durera" then this thing makes a lot of sense.

Me in front of Buckingham Palace in St. James' Park.

A funny spray paint near St. James' Park Underground station.

Me in front of Windsor Castle.

Stonehenge. It's neat, but has that "oh, that's it" quality to it.

Queen's Square in Bristol.

Starr after we got caught in a snowstorm trying to find a bar.

Street in Bristol.

More Bristol.

Bristol.

Down this street is the main drag for the University of Bristol.

Looking up towards the University of Bristol (at the top of the hill.)

Part of Bristol's floating harbour.

Air New Zealand 747-400 landing at London's Heathrow Airport.

Our Air Canada 747-43M, a Combi aircraft. The front part of the plane is for passengers and the back is for cargo. Only a few airlines operate it, and Air Canada only has 3.

Looking down at the M-25 Motorway on climbout from Heathrow.

Windsor Castle from the air.

Overlooking the vast Canadian wilderness on the flight to Toronto.

As you can see from this pic, we're getting very close to Pearson Airport in Toronto.

Terminal 2 as we prepare to leave and go through customs.

Boarding our Air Canada flight home for Dallas.
