Welcome to my site for my rebuild of my truck. It is a 1965 Chevrolet C-10 1/2 ton long fleet side, she also has a 230 straight 6 that is the stock one from back in '65. I got her about 2 years ago to use as a driver until my Firebird was finished. I had replaced almost all the wiring harnesses since they were still the original ones and I was having some problems with getting my tail lights and blinkers to work. Unfortunately around March 2004 I got into her to go to work (overnights) and she kind of burst into flames under the hood. Deduced that a fuel leak at the fuel pump in combination with a short in the main engine harness caused the fire. I was able to put it out (with the help of the Hillsboro Fire Department) and spent the better part of 2004 fixing what needed to be fixed. Fortunately because of the age of the truck there isn't much under the hood that burns so I only had to replace harnesses, wires, coil, fuel pump and a few other small things. The biggest problem has been that the driver side rear freeze plug was damaged somehow. Now I am just waiting for a friend to come over and give me a hand with pulling the engine out to make fix it. I am also planning on replacing the 3 speed manual with a TH-350 that I have sitting in my garage.

Here are some pics that I have taken of the truck, I didn't take any pics of the passenger side but there is only a little paint damage and soot from the fire.

You cant tell too bad from this picture but one of the PO's put a bunch of cat shift fiberglass in the rocker panel area to fix the rust problems there. This however only patched the problem and removed any strong anchored points for the seatbelts, which are now connect with chain at one end and bolted to the doors at the other.
