This is an overview of the west end of the yard. This end contains the back shop, roundhouse and the administration building.

east overview

This is the view of the east side of the yard where the car shops are located.

shop sign

This is the sign that stood at the corner of Virginia Avenue (foreground) and East Offut Street. The buildings in the background are photos of the actual ones found on E Offut Street.

turntable

Baltimore & Ohio GP30 #6954 sits on the turntable waiting to be turned around.

fuel rack

Chessie System SD40-2 #7602 awaits refueling. In the background is the back shop with a Conrail engine inside.

Amtrak park

Two railfans enjoy the view sitting in the park next to the Amtrak station.

coal drag

A Chessie coal train rounds the curve passing the Amtrak station. In the foreground is the Baltimore Street shack which is modeled after the actual one in Cumberland.

fange greaser

A pair of Chessie SD40-2's pulls a mixed freight train along the north side of the yard. The train is about to run over the flange greaser which is used to lessen the wear on wheel flanges on curves.

new tracters

A trio of new Chessie tractors pass the yard tower at the throat of the yard.

crane

A crane is loading rail onto a flatcar for the crews to do some repair along the right of way.
