Keegan is loved and missed by
Daddy Kevin, Mommy Trish,
Sister Jessica and Brother Kyle
For Keegan

My son I am so sorry,
I know I let you down,
I wish I could have stopped that car,
now your body lies under the ground.

  I feel so weak and helpless,
I never knew you'd go.
I cannot believe God needed you,
why I will never know.

  Your brother and sister miss you,
  and daddy's not the same;
we all can't wait for "our day"
so that we can see you again.

  I will never forget you my sweet baby boy,
  your big blue eyes shine in my heart;
your smile stays in our memories,
one day we WON'T be apart.

  Love, Mommy
Keegan was our "little fierce one."
That is what Keegan means in Irish Gaelic. He was never to be outdone by his brother or sister. He was a handful. He was so loved. He was so friendly, he always went with me everywhere-I was a stay-at-home Mom. When he met someone he would say, "Hi- I Keegan,
K-E-E-G-A-N!"

   He was so proud; he was so independent. He was a lover of life, of animals, of family, of nature, of power tools, of helping daddy with projects. He was so good at the computer. He loved to sing. He loved to watch Bob the Builder. He was so smart. He loved to play. I guess that's what led to his death.

  He wanted to play soccer with his brother. They were not allowed outside without me. I didn't even know they had gone outside.  I was making dinner and had just put a video on for the boys to watch; I was very sick at the time, but I only went to the bathroom for a minute. My daughter Jess was playing school on the back porch.  He ran into the street to get the soccer ball which had rolled down the driveway. He made it across the road and was turning around to come back.  The driver was not paying attention, and was speeding. He hit Keegan with all the force of his car, even though Jessica and Kyle were SCREAMING for the man to STOP!  He never hit the brakes, until after he thought he hit a dog. He was sorry. So are we. There was never any testing done, because the Sheriff's Deputy did not "feel there was a need". Several months later, the driver was arrested for stealing a car and when patted down, and there were drugs found on him. No tickets were ever issued for anything, failure to maintain control, speeding, driving too fast for conditions; an accident reconstructionist was called in and it was determined that SPEED WAS A FACTOR! I constantly call the Sheriff's Office for speeders and they do NOTHING!

  There is so much more to this story, but I cannot go on right now.  We miss you, my baby.
