Mulder looked down at Scully. She was lying on the intensive-care section in one of the sterile hospitalbeds mulder hated so much. They put her in an artificial coma. Mulder was in shock. "No.." he thought "No,..this can't be happening!" But still..she was lying there helpless, powerless...without life. What he wouldn't give to be the one lying there instead of her.Everything!every time he looked at her he felt a stab right into his heart. He reached over to brush a strand of her beautyful red hair out of her pale face.He bend over her and whispered into her ear: "Scully..." No reaction. Then more urgent he said: "Dana..please..you have to fight,hang on...I..,I need you!! Please..."his voice broke and he was fighting tears. He tenderly kissed her forehead and satdown on the chair that was standing next to her bed.Mulder took her small fragile hand in his and pressed it against his cheek.He put his head to rest on the bedside and let his tears come.He couldn't take it!!What if she never woke up again?He couldn't live with the thought that he never told her how much she really meant to him! It doesn't matter if she wants his love or not, he had to tell her! Why do you always have to lose something to know what you had? "I have to tell her..it's all my fault..it's all my fault.."with this mantra in his mind he fell asleep, totally exhausted.
