RESTLESS NIGHTS

Sometimes I wake up during the night
I long for your arms to hold me tight
I look for you, but you're not there.
We have a love only we two could share
It's rare and it's special and runs very deep
The kind of love one dreams of in sleep
You were mine for such a short time
Our hearts connected, our souls intertwined
No matter what happens during the day
At night I dream you'll come back to stay
Sometimes I wake up during the night
Heartbreak and sorrow are still there in sight
So I close my eyes and the tears start to flow
I call out your name, I want you to know
These tears are for you and all that we had
I think back and remember and it makes me sad
Sometimes I wake up from a sound sleep
I pray that someday, the pain wont run so deep
