OPEN EYES

A cloud of darkness had floated over me
It blinded my eyes, I was unable to see
I missed so many things in life
Covered with worry, buried in strife
I felt I had nothing to offer anyone
Then you came along, and showed me I was someone
I now have so much time to make up for
And I thank you my love for opening that door
You were there when I needed a friend
You came with an ear to listen and a shoulder to lend
We talked, we laughed and we connected
And then something I had not expected
We fell in love with each other
I know in my heart, I could never love another
You are all I have ever dreamed of
With you, I have finally found love
