It's a beautiful night

With stars shining bright

What a wonderful sight

I think and I pray

What a beautiful way He closes each day

No matter what happened during the day

There's a feeling of calm as I sit down to pray

I pray to God up above

I pray and thank Him for His love

I thank the Lord for letting me be

A friend to someone who reached out to me

I thank the Lord for the words I did say

That maybe made someone feel better today

And as I lay my head to sleep

I pray the Lord, my soul, will keep

And while I sleep throughout the night

Peaceful and calm in dreams delight

Thoughts of tomorrow come my way

The miracle of another new day
