DREAMS

I love you darling, with all my heart
But I just can't go on with that
I'm thankful for the time we had
I'll always remember the love we shared
I have to let go, get you out of my heart
I have to try and make a new start
No longer will I look for love
If it comes my way, it will be from above
When I look back, it's just what it seems
What you and I shared were only dreams
But one can't build their life on dreams
It's too hard, it hurts, one screams
Now when each new day comes around
I'm going to accept whatever is found
You won't be there to share my days
So my thoughts, I'll write down
In my own special ways
Maybe someday, when I'm old and gray
Thoughts of you will go away
Then my life will be calm and serene
I'll no longer think back and remember dreams.
