The Chilly (Chili) Incident
by Kathy P
Whistling a happy tune, Julian walked into his quarters, smiling as the pleasant smell of dinner greeted him. "Hi, honey. I'm home," He yelled as he strolled into the room, tossing a padd onto the table by the door.
"Julian. I'm in the bedroom. Why don't you join me?" a teasing voice floated across the room.
Grinning in anticipation, like Dr. Frank-N-Furter from the old earth movie, Julian thought to himself with a cocky grin, he started to undo his uniform as he moved toward the bedroom door. "Coming, dear."
The door to the bedroom slid open, revealing the pitch black room. "Computer, lights at..." he started to say before he was interrupted by a sultry voice.
"No. Leave the lights off."
Shucking off his uniform, he dropped it to the floor, and moved blindly toward where he thought the bed was. "Oh, you naughty, naughty thing," he said, leering as his legs connected with the edge of the bed.
A muffled giggle answered him. Sliding onto the bed, Julian reached forward. "Ahh, there you are," he said as his hands encountered warm flesh.
"Oh, Julian," came a whispered moan as Julian started to caress the body beneath him.
"Oh, baby, I gotta see you," Julian moaned back, totally hot and bothered.
"Whatever you want, my love."
"Computer. Light at fifty-percent."
A warm, half-light came on at the rushed command.
A piercing scream broke through the air as Julian looked down in horror. Staring up at him, a lustful broken tooth smile faltering on his face, Quark tilted his head to one side in confusion. "Julian. What's wrong?"
The scream continued as Julian jerked up right in his bed, his chest heaving as he tried to draw in air through the huge knot of disgust rising in his throat.
Panting, Julian looked around the darkened room frantically. He jumped fearfully as a voice called out a command to the computer. "Lights, fifty-percent."
The darkness retreated as the light flared into life.
"Julian. What's wrong?"
Jerking his head to the side, Julian looked at the figure lying beside him. A huge wash of relief spread over him as his mind registered the person in bed with him. Familiar scaled features looked up at him sleepily, blue eyes blinking in the sudden light.
"Gods, Garak! I just had the most horrible dream," Julian said shuddering.
A brief look of annoyance flittered across Garak's face. "I TOLD you not to eat the chili from the Klingon Restaurant. I don't suppose it was that Quark dream again?"
Still shuddering, Julian could only nod.
"You know, I could start to get offended if you keep dreaming about him," Garak said with a soft sigh.
Julian looked down at Garak. "Jealous?" he said inanely. "How can you by jealous of a nightmare?"
"I was just teasing you, my dear," Garak said, smiling fondly at the flustered man. "Why don't you try to go back to sleep?"
Lying down, Julian called for the light to go off. A moment of silence passed before Julian moved closer to Garak, arranging them, much to Garak's amusement, with Julian spooned up behind the Cardassian.
"Go to sleep, Julian," Garak said, as he settled into the human's embrace.
Closing his eyes, Julian held his husband tight, vowing once again, as he always did, to never eat Klingon chili again.
The End.
Happy Halloween!!!
