Ok, ok. I know exactly what you're thinking. "Come on, Kat, aren't there enough of these pages where people pour their heart out against the wolrd? Yes, I have to say that there are, but I felt the need to say these few things that have been on my mind. Forgive me, but some things, poetry and stories just can't expess as well as the truth behind them. So, I'm going to try to pour my little Kitty Kat heart out to you. Please don't hate me, but this page was just for me. I only published it because I know that there are a lot more people out there who feel this way. |

1st, I have to address the dreaded words, Breast cancer. Just the two words to me, at least, are the words I have always associated with death. My father is a doctor, but he's into lungs, and critical care. My other aunt is a nurse. In short, I live in a world where the ups and downs of medicine are not completly out of range for me. I know what goes on, and I know about the research, the success that some women have been blessed with.
Now that that's been said, I have to say that my aunt has breast cancer. Yes, someone I love has it. I was devistated when I found out, and I was the last person in the family to find out. And they say I act a lot like her. But, she's not giving up. She had an "Airodynamic hairstyle," and she's still going stong. She's a fighter, and she's still got her attitude. I haven't lost her yet. Hopefully, I won't. She has a good chance. She caught the lump early, is it looks fairly good for her. But, we all know that nothing in the world is totally certain. (By the way, in regards to her"Airodynamic hairstyle," she's estatic about the money she's saved on hair care. It's now coming back in slowly)
Many women aren't so lucky. I understand this. My aunt, however, because she performed her self breast examine caught her lump in time for the doctors to be fairly sure they can nix it, and she'll be fine. Nothing is certain, though. Please, if you know anyone that doesn't do their breast examines, encourage them to do so. It could literally save their life. Esp. if they think that they're safe, since it doesn't run in the family (which greatly increases your chances). It runs in my family, but no one but my grandmother knew. It may be the same way for anyone else out there. |

2nd, I want to address something that EVERYONE goes through eventually. The friendship gone bad, and the person that you thought was your friend stabbing you in the back every time you turn around. I'm sorry, but if your fight was about something as dumb as mine, then you just have to realize how much you didn't need that friend in the first place. It's just something you have to live with. I know that you wondering what happened to me now that I've said that. Ok, I'll tell you, but only because it illistrates my point. Ok, so there were two girls that I had been friends with since the beginning of the school year. Well, I was talking to one of them across instant messanger (AOhelL) and I said something about Howie D. of the Backstreet Boys, who I DO NOT like and I think he's slightly...not right in the head. Well, this girl is an obsessed fan (I think I'll call her Jessica for now.). She blew her top off at me, and (if you'll excuse me, I had a sailor for a great-uncle, I inherited the potty mouth) I cussed a lot at her. Ok, ok. This is not the first time I said anything about the boy, so I didn't think she'd be really pissed at me. (I thought wrong) Well, the other girl, (who I will call Shelby) was going out with a guy much older than her, and that's another REALLY LONG story. To make it short, he's 18, and already charged with a misdemeanor , she's 15, they've come close to doing something naughty already, and I got concerned about Shelby, because I didn't want anything to happen to her. So sue me, I was concerned about a friend. Anyway, A third friend and I were making a joke about Shelby and a trip we were thinking about going on. I laughed at the joke, and turned to ask Jessica something, but she had turned away from me. Well, for a week, Jessica moved so quick that I coudn't catch up, plus I had to do a lot of other things that included talking to teachers after class. So, for a week, Jessica and I didn't talk. Then, she and I talked again across instant messanger. Well, she got pissed at me this time, and cussed me out. We talkied about both the BSB thing, and the joke, which she took out of context, and eavesdropping So, between the converstaions, we both cussed each other out. Well, that would be fine with me, except that she put it in a website. Three days after the second conversation, my boyfriend was talking to her, and she told him the website address. Well, once he saw what the conversation was about, he e-mailed me about it. I got the e-mail, printed it out, and brought it to school, to confront her about it. Unfortunitly, the third friend read it first, and she and Jessica got into a fight about it, and were sent to the assitante principle's office. He didn't do much about it, though. Well, the third girl and I started crying after that class. They were tears of outrage, and of hurt from the greatest betrayed trust I have ever lived through. She went home, while my mom said it was something to be handled by us and the school's coucilor. Well, the principle saw me in the office crying before I could recover my wits. (Hey, my emotions were sky-high from crying before that too.) I poured out the whole story to her, and she took corrective action. Jessica was suspended for a day, and forced to remove the conversation from her site. Things didn't stop there. Now, Jessica hated me even more for getting her suspended. She and Shelby were closer than Shelby and I were. So, Shelby took Jessica's side and turned against me. So, now I had two people against me. Any way, the fight happened at the end of the school year. So, all summer I didn't have to interact with Jessica or Shelby. Well, one day I was on line, talking to another friend that had no clue about this fight when Jessica IMed me again. But, this time, she did it through a new name that was "Last Name Sucks" (I refuse to give out my last name). Well, this whole time, I've prayed that we could eventuallly put this behind us, and be friends again. Well, that name thing was the last straw, I finally understood that the friendship I had with her just wasn't worth it. I finally understood that I was a better person than that, and I never needed her in the first place. There, I've presented everything to you, and you can form your own opinions. Regardless of what you think, I learned an important lesson, and I've come to grips with it. This school year, I have just completly avoided her. I haven't been near her website, and I don't care to. "Don't let the man get you down!" A quote that also applies to good for nothing ex-friends. Never let anyone get you down! |

3rd. Here it comes, the unload of "What is the world coming to?" I go to a Catholic school, and in September of 2000, we had two school scares. First, someone e-mailed to school a bomb threat, and they suppect a guy in my class. Nothing is for sure, yet, with it though. Then, about a week later (I think, I'm not sure. I can't remember the exact date) someone set a fire in a class room. We know it was arson, though. And now, we've had two more fires and a woman walk onto campus and steal over 200 dollars from some students. What is the world coming to that a Catholic school is even having all this trouble? I mean, everyone always blames that the lack of prayer in schools is what causes all that's wrong in the world. Well, that might be the case, but still, the world is full of wackos. Where do these people caome from? Parents, you need to quit blaming society, and music, and take resonsiblity for your children. We don't need gun control, or any of these other things that are just solutions for honest criminals. What we really need is for people to take resonsibility for their actions. We need parents to spend time with their children, because getting into trouble is a way for them to get the attention they crave, even if it is negative. |

4th Someone I know just transfered to a public school and asked the principal if religion was offered as an elective (another public school that her brother went to did, so it was a thing she thought would be availible.) Okies, now, I had to ask a few of my public schooled friends about this. Why is it that there's a seperation of church and state if the government is going to determine where we can and cannot pray? My friends have told me that they don't even get the option of religion classes because of some stupid thing like "it would seem as though the government were pressing religion onto thosse who don't wish to pray." Well, fine, whatever, but don't penalize those of us who WANT to know about our religion. Make religion classes an elective for those that want them. And don't say that if they want a religion class, they should have to go to a church-run school. Some people can't afford these classes, but still want, don't want to leave their friends, or the private school is just to far away. So, you say that they should go to their churches and learn there? Well, what if the only classes offered at the church are for sacrements that the person has already recieved? I'm just saying that religion classes should be an option to those that would like to take them. Plus, Congress, (Like you'll ever read this, but still!) if you want to remove all traces of God in the public schools, don't allow the students to say the pledge, learn their country's decloration of Independance, or Constitution, or sing the national anthem at any of their functions, since ALL of these say SOMETHING about God in them. You'd better just change all of these priceless documents and nationally accepted song to where they say nothing about the existance of a higher power, since that would appear as if the government was pressing religion onto those that do not wish to pratice religion. Oh, and one more thing, think about redoing all the money again, since every piece of money has the words "In God We Trust" on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Has no one else thought about these things? I mean, this country's forefathers meant that no religion would be supported by the government, forcing you to pay taxes to keep a church alive. They didn't want the United States government to be allowed to do the same thing as England's had done to them. We live free, and this fredom is granted to us by God. Thanks for listening to me ramblings, you all can tell that I feel strongly abou this, ne? Well, I believe very strongly in my beliefs, and the amazing ability to express it in this country. so, God Bless America!!!!!!! And say it proudly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
