The Story of Us

I was sitting all alone
On a park beach in the rain
I could hear the wind blow
Hear it calling out my name

Then I saw you standing there
A smile upon your face
A lonely look we share
In this lonely, lonely  place

The walls I built around me
Shattered as you walked through
A love I lost has found me
Can this be true

This is the story  of us
Two strangers in the rain
Doing all we must
Just to keep up with the train
This is the story of us
Two hearts out in the rain
In the loneliness we trust
To throw off the burden of this chain

You turned to walk away
And you took anothers hand
But in my heart you’ll always stay
Back in the loneliness I stand

This is the story  of us
Two strangers in the rain
Doing all we must
Just to keep up with the train
This is the story of us
Two hearts out in the rain
In the loneliness we trust
To throw off the burden of this chain

To whisper in your ear
To wipe away your tears
I’d chase away your fears
I’d wait a million years

I’ve given no heed
To the price I’m sure to pay
Just you is all I need
There’s just one thing left to say

This is the story  of us
Two strangers in the rain
Doing all we must
Just to keep up with the train
This is the story of us
Two hearts out in the rain
In the loneliness we trust
To throw off the burden of this chain
