Swedish special cards

Most countries have a number of phonecards wich are different, groundbreaking or just especially worth mentioning for some reason or another. Here i thought i would show and describe some of the more spectacular swedish phonecards. This is nothing you necessarily need to know to be a "enlightened" collector, but it is fun to know. As far as i am concerned these cards makes for an inspireing factor in the world of phonecard collecting. Enjoy!

The first wooden phonecards.

The first and only two swedish cards made from wood, were issued in december 1995 resp. june 1996. The cards "På tu man hand" (60350/004, first version and 60350/012, second version) in two versions were issued by Telia as remote memory travelcards. The cards were ment to function as advertisment in favour to the new alternative phonecard material wich naturally is a good environmental choice. The cards are promotional issues; 1.500 and 2.500 copies of each and each 25 units. The wood used in the cards comes from a tree with good abilities for the purpose, collected from the woods on the Finnish-Russian border.

Travelcards destroyd.

Only a few of these two Telia travel card reached the market, as they for some reason(?) were destroyd in the process. The cards, 60301/005 and /006, are public cards each with 50 units and an original print of 12.000 resp. 8.000 issues. Ofcourse, the number that reached the market were considerably smaller.
